Brethren, I have been attending the undergrad school at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary majoring in Biblical Studies and Theology. It's my hope one day to serve our Great King on the missions field to the muslims (God willing, which I think He is).

Anyways, I am applying for an "RL" (resident leader) position in the dorms. Which is basically a "landlord" of sorts. If i get it I get to live on campus free and they provide a 1 class stipend. That means thats like $1,300 off of my tutition per semester which I currently do not have! :D

Getting this would mean an easier route onto the field because I would have less student loans to pay off before I could do it.

Pray that the Lord would allow me to do this. It would be a huge blessing no doubt!!!:prayer::pray:

I will be praying for you.

When I was doing my undergrad I did a similar thing in the dorms, but it was not a Bible college...it was quite a learning experience. At the same time it was a great experience and I'm sure you will grow from it.

I'm also excited to hear that you have sensed the call to the mission field to work with Muslims. My parents worked with Muslims in Africa when I was a child...it is a wonderful calling!!

Anyway, it is always great to hear how God is working in the lives of his people...you will be in my prayers.

Stephen

Well this would explain your knowledge in the KJV-NIV thread I started. I sure did enjoy hearing your point of view on the subject. It helped me to figure out what I will read. I honestly didn't realize it was such a huge topic of discussion.

Anyways, I am glad to hear you might be given an opportunity to relieve some financial pressures. It sure is helpful not to worry about finances when you have more important things to take care of.

God Bless!
newbeliever :)

Dear Lord,
I come to you asking for Your help in TLE's college situation. Lord You know his needs and if it is Your will I ask that the doors to the RL position be opened to TLE. I also ask that You embrace Your loving arms around TLE and let him know that You are there for him. How great You are dear Lord to take care of us during our needs. I ask this in Your Holy and Precious Name.....Amen!

I will definitely be praying for the Lord's Guidance and strength as you continue to seek His face and Will for your life. Especially since you feel compelled to such a difficult field of harvest.

I'm definitely praying for you. I will be attending Boyce in the fall, I'll have to find you when I get up there.

You will be living in my dorm building, Carver Hall. If your personality is more "I am a monk, and I like peace and quiet" you'll want to live in the monastary on the 4th floor. If your rambunctious and crazy, you will like the third floor with all of the youth majors :P

We'll definitly have to get together and pray or something.

Yeah that is what I've heard, I'm actually trying to get an apartment with some friends because it would be cheaper, can't I have my mom sign for me since i'm under 20?

Nope, the only way you are moving off campus is if your living with family. Chip Collins, student life guy, is pretty serious about that. Sorry to be the one to burst that bubble. :crossrc:

But take heart, Carver is an awesome place to live, unless you hang out with the clowns who play halo all day and night, and really waste God's time of preparation for the sacrifice of ministry.

Ever have a curfew before? :P
