Hey there, nice to have you on the board.

Just a word of caution: you should be careful -- especially on this board -- equating homosexuality with being mentally ill (even if that was not your intention). We are not allowed to discuss homosexuality on this board because of the divisive role it's currently having in our Communion.

We will pray for you and your wife/family, however.

Christ's peace be with you! :crossrc:

yeppyairs,,
look at the following link,-- i am not advocating anything here--- and you need to use discernment
but there is a level at which some people can be damaged by a religion they love

take what you can out of it, ignore what you dont like

and most of all may Christ's peace be with you , God bless

i came across the above site when i was trying to see both sides in a certain dispute that we dont talk about here, (the dispute that dare not speak its name)

Hi yeppyairs,
It's nice to meet you, and thanks for sharing your painful story with all of us. I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but I struggled with bulimia for about 11 or 12 years. I've had many different "deliverance" experiences, read books, and prayed and prayed for healing. Healing eventually came when I finally conceded to inpatient hospitalization, which was not the avenue I expected God to work in my life.
I will definitely pray for you and your wife, but at the same time I would encourage you to find a good Christian therapist who would be able to offer you additional insight and resources to help overcome your struggles.

yeppyairs, you could try going to the Men's corner where there are one or two people who struggle with the same problem you do and could be of help. Both homosexuals and the mentally ill shall have our prayers in any case.

julian, you often make insightful comments on grace here, but sometimes I feel you could be more sensitive to the distinction between attacking legalism and attacking the Law. It's a fine line where we have to stand between these two positions that our opposed to Christ.

Thank you for all your prayers. One thing I was distressed about at my Father's funeral was that the priest waved a cloth and all of a sudden, just like magic, HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A NEW CREATURE BY THAT ACT, and he was dead.

Men have to be made a new creature, a new creation before they die, there is no pulling a rabbit out of the hat after your stone cold dead, by waving a cloth over the casket.

please help me pray, help me to truely forgive all the priests that I believe are misleading people in this respect. Please pray that I may forgive truely from my heart so I may be free.

You see I was brought up catholic, when I was three I told Momma, I said Momma there's nothing here in this church, why are we here?

Please help me, to forgive, help me to heal others, help me to inspire, pray for me, as I pray for you.

What in the world are you talking about? Waved a cloth?? And as far as the Catholic Church, I think you are way off base - although some may think that it is "off base" of the original truth set down by the apostles, I would be fearful to think that God does not dwell there! I would never say such a thing about your church. Just because you don't get a "high" in a church does not mean God is not present!! Didn't Jesus say that those who are not against us are for us??

MOD HAT ON

No debating by non-STR members(anyone who's not self-identified as Anglican or Old Catholic, sometimes Lutheran) and no belittling any denomination.
