This verse in Revelations always mystified me.One would have to believe that praising Hashem never stops,So if there is silence maybe everyone left for a little while and then you see this great multitude standing in front of the throne, but the two witnesses and the wicked are still on earth.

This is my opinion about this subject and it's only an opinion.

Heaven comes down and collects all the people who occuppy the outer court of gentiles, people who worship the lord but are luke warm. These would be the same people who are outside the city in revelations when Jerusalem comes down from heaven.

These people are raptured but the rapture wasn't a good thing,It just took them outa the way.

The two witnesses are those gentiles and Jews who occuppy the Holy Place and Holy of Holies.

The two witnesses{144000} are left on this earth to deal with the wicked and part of Ephraim who have been left as a witness to the two witnesses saying they were right all along.

The wicked when seeing the deaths of the outer court christians will mock the two witnesses saying Go on up ye bald heads.

For 42 months the two witnesses will rip and tare those that are left.

Judges 12-6..Say now Shibboleth,And he said Sibboleth for he could not fraim to pronounce it right. Then they took him,and slew him at the passages of Jordan and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites 42,000.

2cnd kings 2-24....and there came two she bears out of the woods and tore 42 of them.----This is where Elija{flesh} was takin out of the way and Elisha got the double portion, then all these children came to mock Elisha thinking that Elija had just been killed by G-d but Elisha saw him survive.

The two witnesses are sealed on their forehead with the seal of G-d.

How do you get the seal of G-d on your forehead?

Exodus 13-Celebrate my Passover and it will be a mark on ur forehead and right hand between you and me and your descendants forever.

Of course I may very well be wrong about this.

It was at the opening of the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. and I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

It is solemn times when there is silence.....

1)then Judgment is rendered if it were in a court room....or
2)the Judge has just stood up to leave..

Silence in heaven does also indicate maybe there is not one there making noise...
3)as Jesus promised to take all of heaven to gather us up to take home.

What ever the reason, this pause, is potent with implications.

Zec 2:11-13

And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

As I recall (someone correct me if I am wrong), silence was kept by the congregation on Yom Kippur during to time when the Cohen Godel was making anew the Covenant between Adoni's Memra and Eretz Yisrael. Here we see a ref to silence during the time when YHVH is raised up out of the Most Holy Place to choose/receive His inheritance/bride. That is to say, I believe that this time of silence is the very time when the New/Eternal Covenant is ratified and we wait until King Moshiach emerges to claim His inheritance.

Just a thought.

Shalom.

That's very good,Everything in Revelations has an original as I believe.I bet your right in saying that it's a reference to Yom Kippur.
