I haven't trusted this stuff, since hearing that the grilled cheese sandwich that looked like the Virgin Mary didn't come with an order of fries!^_^

I like the smile on his face, like he's in on the joke.

Note the disclaimer at the bottom saying that it isn't his "original" signature. It's a relief to have that question put to rest! ;)

I remember reading in a novel, years ago, about a traveling pracher who got arrested for selling autographed photographs of the Last Supper. ^_^

The fact that it is a singed Jesus picture is indeed a gimmick, but they've had eight bids on it, and it is now at £16! ($31.95 inc postage)

What made me laugh was the person begging them to mail to the US as a gift for his minister. Surely they could just buy their own picture of Jesus and sign it themselves!!!

I agree with you 100%. In fact, I know of a radio show that, years ago, peddled its own signed, autographed pictures of Jesus over a wide area of the United States. So this isn't the first time for this idea.
On the other hand, reading about someone wanting one as a gift for a pastor and the fact that people have bid the price on this up over 3 times its original asking price, made me wonder, "What do sincere people see in this which we are laughing over as a ridiculous piece of nonsense?" They can't be that guillible!
No, of course they are not. Yet, they want the item anyway, at least some of them, presumably, not to make fun of it.
Well, isn't it the case that they most likely are saying that it stimulates their imagination, makes them feel closer to Christ (since we all feel special when holding a signed book or card, better than just the unsigned, impersonal thing), or creates a deeper sense of something or other in them?
That's exactly what has been the argument for elaborate church pageantry, dashboard statues, relics, weeping icons, rear view mirror rosaries, and all the other emotional, mysterious add-ons that seem to be necessary 'fixes' for some Christians. Many of those things are admitted by their fans to be not really essential, but oh, how they make them feel!
And so, they say, their devotional life is enhanced. Maybe this particular "autographed" picture isn't so unique after all.
Just a "scratching my head" kind of passing thought.

Why didn't he sign his name with any crosses in front?
