What would you rather have, the presence of God or the promises of God?

Forget the right answer but give an honest answer.

I don't have to think about it ... the presence of the Lord .

Would never need the time... His promises are already valid and sealed... it's His Presence I seek. :)

His Presence brings with it all the promises He ever made. It is the fufillment of the promises. I'll take His Presence any day.

For sure. My pastor was preaching on this last sermon, and it was something a lot of people needed to hear. It was a very powerful service, it realigned focus in my life again, keeping me on the strait and narrow. The question that I really came out of service is "How much do I really value the pressence of God?"

The Second Coming of Christ... followed by a life lived in eternity with God? Bring it on! His promises are wonderful... but I wanna see Jesus.

God keeps all of His promises so the end result would be His presence.

Exactly. When you have The Presence you have The Promise.:)

I would have to say presence. For if we had all of the promises in the world, it would not be worth it if God were not there HIMSELF. I guess it's the question of whether you would keep Isaac, or sacrifice him for the sake of continued relationship with God.

I like this post, but the more I think about it, the more I think that we allready have both.

1. I don't need to worry about God breaking his promises to me.
2. I believe that the word says that God is omni present. If I am not expreriencing the presence of God, it is not his fault.... it's mine.

My desire is to experience the glory of God. When the presence comes, we are strengthend and empowered; when glory comes, priest are no longer able to stand and perform their duties (2 Chronicles 5:14).

Blessings

Tim

God's promises are binding to Him. Therefore, if He is present, His promises will be fulfilled. You can't have one or the other, presence or promises; they come together.

Honest answer. God will come in His time, so for now I have His promises, which are the same as having Christ physically here.

IF I had to choose, then it would be His presence. I didn'y come to Him to get anything, but because I was lonely and wanted His presence.
But isn't it nice that we don't have to choose?
