Rebecca and I have been going out for a year and two months, before than I hadn't gone to church for a long time. I met her on the highschool bus for a choir functioin my senior year. Then one day she invitited me to her youth group and there on the spot I got saved! We want to get married but after her college education, which is roughly 6 or 7 years. Does anybody think that it will work out?, Does anybody think that God put us together for a reason? Please feel free to give me your input. I would appreciate it.

It's good that you're planning ahead. Could you explain why you plan to get married after her college? It seems just a presumption on your part that that's how it's done (and not that I don't think there is merit in waiting until finishing college).

I have no doubt in my mind that God matches us up if we let Him. My fiance and myself new each other all through highschool, but we never 'went out' with each other until the end of year 12. We're doing the same thing, getting married after University finishes...
All it takes is a little prayer and God leads you on the write path...
Just be careful telling a mennonite about your loooooong dating period! :) I keep getting told off (lol) for being engaged for 18 months (we've got no money to get married earlier!)...

That is a set up from above. I don't know if you are to be wed or not let alone when. Just be patient and keeping praying, getting closer to God, whatever needs to be done will be done when you are in God's will.

My pastor had a mad crush on a girl about five years ago, and he persued her, but she declined. Actually she didn't like him. They were both Godly people, but there were thing each of them had to do. My pastor soon after answered the call to be a pastor, and when into fulltime ministry. Later on down the roadtheir paths crossed again, but each of them were different this time, they were different people. They started to court each other soon after that, and now they are getting married in a week. God had kept them from marrying each other at the wrong time, so that they would be mature and complete, that God could get the most out of their life of ministry. If they had dated each other back then it might not have worked out and a pastor might have abandoned his calling. Praise God that didn't happen.

Be patient and press in, know God's heart, and he will direct your paths. Peace.

 CWLite,

THANKS for posting that:hug: !!! I think that what happened between your pastor and his wife is nothing short of BEAUTIFUL!!!! And it gives me hope that, despite many years of waiting for an answer, God hasn't necessarily forgotten about me in that particular area of my life... THANKS again:thumbsup: !!!

Yes, thank you CWLite. It gives hope for those of us in the pastoral calling who as of yet remain "unconnected" ;)

Romans 8:28 makes a good point.
