The Hallel Psalms
Psalms 113-118 form the Hallel, the Hymns of Praise. These chapters are expressions of joy and faith in G-d, and of gratitude for salvation from our enemies. They were incorporated into the Book of Psalms by King David, and they were singled out for inclusion in Hallel because they contain the following fundamental themes of the faith of Judaism: the Exodus, the Giving of the Torah by G-d at Sinai, the future Resurrection of the Dead, and the Coming of the Messiah.
Psalm 115
New King James Version
1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
1 Not for our sake HaShem, not for our sake; but for Your Name’s sake give glory, for Your kindness and for Your truth!
New King James Version
2 Why should the Gentiles say, "So where is their God?"
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
2 Why should they say the nations, where now is their God?
New King James Version
3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
3 Our God is in the heavens; whatever He pleases, he does!

Speaking of the hallel, did you know that chapter 117 is the shortest chapter in the whole bible?
And that 119 ( thought not in the hallel proper) is the longest?
And in 118, the middle verse give the whole theme of the book?
:)
Do you know what it is? :)

Which one... us or Him?
15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!
16The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!

New King James Version
4 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of the hands of man.
The word for idol in this verse comes from a verb which means "to afflict", "grieve", "pain". It is a play on words (as there are other words for idol) to describe the condition one ends up in when you rely on idols.
New King James Version
5 They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see;
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
5 A mouth they have, but cannot speak; eyes they have, but cannot see;
New King James Version
6 They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell;
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
6 Ears they have, but cannot hear; a nose they have, but cannot smell.
New King James Version
7 They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter
through their throat.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
7 Their hands – they cannot feel; their feet – they cannot walk; they cannot utter [a sound] from their
throat.
New King James Version
8 Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
8 Like them should become those who make them, all who trust in them!
We see the same ideas in Revelation:
Rev 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk...

I think that reckones back to the opening verse
1 Not for our sake HaShem, not for our sake; but for Your Name’s sake give glory, for Your kindness and for Your truth!http://www3.christianforums.com/images/quotes/quot-bot-left.gif
For those who are making these things are worshipping the works of their own hands, not the creator who made those materials in the first place. I think this goes beyond what we commonly think of as idols, silver and gold can even be coinage, money, those worshipping money, that they give themselves credit for making, not in the sense of minting, but by their works.

Or as in the other "health" thread... making man made food, and drugs to replace, God given food and herbs.

yes, are you starting to see that the six days are being replaced and it is intensifying?

New King James Version
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
9 O Israel, trust in HaShem; their help and their shield is He!
New King James Version
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
10 House of Aaron, trust in HaShem; their help and their shield is He!
New King James Version
11 You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
11 You who fear HaShem, trust in HaShem; their help and their shield is He!
We could look at these verses as three steps of our journey. We can compare the first step with being a part of Israel. To begin with we cling to Adonai because he is our father and we obey Him because “he said so”. The second stage serves Adonai out of love and resemble the House of Aaron, the Kohanim. Finally, You who fear HaShem refers to a third stage of service to Adonai out of fear and awe and reverence. What are the attributes of the person who fears Adonai?
Fear of Adonai
Proverbs 14: 2 He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord…
Proverbs 14: 16 A wise man fears, and departs from evil…
Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence…
Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life…
Proverbs 1:29 For they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord;
Proverbs 16: 6 …by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
Proverbs 1: 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 2: 3 …if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;…5 Then shall you understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
There is much more that scripture has to say about the positive effects of the fear of the L-rd. Yeshua has something to say about fear too.
Luke 12:5 (Yeshua said) But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Are these statements by Yeshua in Luke in contradiction with the rest of scripture? What if we look at this similar to the situation that Esther was in. When she went before the king without being asked, she knew she could die. It was when the king told her to not fear that all was well. So then, perhaps the way we can make sense out of this is to know that when we approach Adonai it should be with full understanding of His power and we wait for Him to tell us fear not. And when He tells us fear not it is in the correct order :)

New King James Version
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
12 HaShem Who had remembered us will bless: He will bless the House of Israel, He will bless the House of Aaron.
New King James Version
13 He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
13 He will bless those who fear HaShem, the small as well as the great.
He will bless those who fear Him :)
New King James Version
14 May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
14 May HaShem increase upon you, upon you and upon your children!
New King James Version
15 May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
15 Blessed are you by HaShem, Maker of heaven and earth.
Pretty hard to add to that :D

New King James Version
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; But the earth He has given to the children of men.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
16 As for the heavens, the heavens are for HaShem; but the earth He has given to mankind.
New King James Version
17 The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down into silence.
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
17 Neither the dead can praise God, nor any who descend into silence.
New King James Version
18 But we will bless the Lord From this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!
Schottenstein (Artscroll)
18 But we will bless God from this time until eternity. Halleluyah!
What a concept - the dead can't praise Adonai, but there are those who can forever praise him.
