Most people dislike having their sins pointed
out, especially in public. The shame of being
exposed is often stronger than the guilt brought
on by the original wrongdoing. Herod Antipas was
a man experiencing both guilt and shame.
Herod's ruthless ambition was public knowledge,
as was his illegal marriage to his own brother's
wife, Herodias. One man made Herod's sin a public
issue. That man was John the Baptist, John had
been preaching in the wilderness, and thousands
flocked to hear him.
Apparently it was no secret that John had
rebuked Herod for his adulterous marriage.
Herodias was particularly anxious to have John
silenced. As a solution, Herod imprisoned John.
Herod liked John. John was probably one of the
few people he ever met who spoke only the truth
to him. But the truth about his sin was a bitter
pill to swallow, and Herod wavered at the point
of conflict; He couldn't afford to have John
constantly reminding the people of their leader's
sinfulness, but he was also afraid to have John
killed. He put off the choice. Eventually Herodias
forced his hand, and John was executed. Of course,
this only served to increase Herod's guilt.
Upon hearing about Yeshua, Herod immediately
identified him with John. He couldn't decide what
to do about Yeshua. He didn't want to repeat the
mistake he had made with John, so instead, he
tried to threaten Yeshua just before his final
journey to Jerusalem.
When the two met briefly during Yeshua's trial,
Yeshua would not speak to Herod. Herod had proved
himself a very poor listener to John, and Yeshua
had nothing to add to John's words. Herod
responded with spite and mocking. Having rejected
the messenger, he found it easy to reject the
Messiah.
For each person, God chooses the best possible
ways to reveal Himself. He uses His Word,
various circumstances, our mind, or other people
to get our attention. He is persuasive and
persistent but never forces Himself on us. To
miss or resist God's message, as did Herod, is
a tragedy indeed. How aware are you of God's
attempts to enter your life?? Have you welcomed
Him??
Herod was a man who was consumed with his quest
for power. He put off decisions or made wrong
ones when under pressure. He divorced his wife
to marry the wife of his half brother, Philip.
He also imprisoned John the Baptist and later
ordered his execution. He had a minor part in the
execution of our Lord and Savior.
Anyone whose life is motivated by ambition is
usually characterized by self-destruction.
Opportunities to do good usually come to us in
the form of choices to be made.

1 Corinthians 15:35-58
35 But some man will say, How are the dead
raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not
quickened, except it die;
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest
not that body that shall be, but bare grain,
it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain;
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased
him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All fleshis not the same flesh; but there is
one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of
beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies
terrestrial; but the glory of the celestial is
one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory
of the moon, and another glory of the stars;
for one star differeth from another star in
glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It
is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption;
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory;
it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a
spiritual body. There is a natural body, and
there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was
made a living soul; the last Adam was made
a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual,
but that which is natural; and afterward that
which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of earth, earthly; the
second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that
are earthly; and as is the heavenly, such are
they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the
earthly, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and
blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither
doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall
not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must be incorruption,
and this mortal must put on immorality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on
incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immorality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up
in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave,
where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength
of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye
steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in
the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know
that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
***************************************
Because Christ rose from the dead, He is a
life-giving spirit. This means that He entered
into a new form of existence. He is the source
of the spiritual life that will result in our
resurrection. Christ's new glorified human body
now suits His new glorified life - just as Adam's
human body was suitable to his natural life.
When we are resurrected, God will give us a
transformed eternal body suited to our new
eternal life.
Satan seemed to be victorious in the Garden of
Eden (Genesis 3) and at the cross of Jesus.
But God turned Satan's apparent victory into
great defeat when Jesus Christ rose from the
dead. Thus, death is no longer a source of
dread or fear. Christ overcame it, and one day
we shall as well. The law will no longer make
sinners out of us just because we cannot keep
it - For has not death been defeated, and we
all, as believers, have hope beyond the grave.

The law will no longer make
sinners out of us just because we cannot keep
it When we are so far into keeping the law that we no longer have to think about the edge of the law and where lawlessness begins, then we will truly understand the joy of living above the law and in the spirit of Yeshua.
Let's say that the grand canyon is sin and the edge is where the law draws the line.
I believe that the Lord can lead us so far into his world that we are as far as you can get. Even the thought of something out of the grand canyon can not even come to mind we are so much into his world. Now that is above the law.

Three blondes died and found themselves standing before St. Peter. He
told them before they could enter Heaven, they had to tell him what
Easter was.
The first blonde said, "Easter is a holiday where they have a big feast
and we give thanks and eat turkey."
St. Peter said, "Noooooo," and he banished her to hell.
The second blonde said, "Easter is when we celebrate Jesus' birth and
exchange gifts."
St. Peter said, "Noooooo," and he banished her to hell.
The third blonde said, she knew what Easter is, and St Peter said, "So,
tell me."
She said, "Easter is a Christian holiday that coincides with the Jewish
festival of Passover. Jesus was having Passover feast with His disciples
when he was betrayed by Judas, and the Romans arrested him. The Romans
hung Him on the cross and eventually He died. Then they buried Him in a
tomb behind a very large boulder....
St. Peter said, "Verrrrrry good."
"Then," the blonde continued, "now every year the Jews roll away the
boulder and Jesus comes out. If he sees his shadow, we have six more
weeks of basketball."
St. Peter fainted...

Miracles of Elijah and Elisha
Baal, the false god worshipped by many Israelites,
was the god of rain, fire, and farm corps. He also
demanded child sacrifice. Elijah's and Elisha's
miracles repeatedly show the power of the True
God over the purported realm of Baal, as well as,
the value that our Father places on the life of
a child.
Miracle;
ELIJAH'S
1. Food brought by ravens................
1 Kings 17:5,6 (food)
2. Widow's Food multiplied...............
1 Kings 17:12-16 (Flour and oil)
3. Widow's son raised to life............
1 Kings 17:17-24 (life of a child)
4. Altar and sacrifice consumed..........
1 Kings 18:16-46 (fire and water)
5. Ahaziah's soldiers consumed...........
2 Kings 1:9-14 (fire)
6. Jordan River parted...................
2 Kings 2:6-8 (water)
7. Transported to heaven.................
2 Kings 2:11,12 (fire and wind)
Miracles;
ELISHA'S
1. Jordan River parted...................
2 Kings 2:13,14 (water)
2. Spring purified at Jericho............
2 Kings 2:19-22 (water)
3. Widow's oil multiplied................
2 Kings 4:1-7 (oil)
4. Dead boy raised to life...............
2 Kings 4:18-37 (life of a child)
5. Poison in stew purified...............
2 Kings 4:38-41 (flour)
6. Prophet's food mulitiplied............
2 Kings 4:42-44 (bread and grain)
7. Naaman healed of leprosy..............
2 Kings 5:1-14 (water)
8. Gehazi became leprous.................
2 Kings 5:15-27 (words alone)
9. Ax head floated.......................
2 Kings 6:1-7 (water)
10. Aramean army blinded.................
2 Kings 6:8-23 (Elisha's prayer)

Jehoshaphats' request for "a prophet of the Lord"
shows how true worship and religious experience
in both Israel and Judah had declined.
In David's day, both the high priest and the
prophets gave the king advice. But most of the
priests had left Israel, and God's prophets
were seen as messengers of doom.
The miracles of Elisha affirmed God's power
and authority and validated Elisha's
ministry. Nobody can simply claim to be a prophet
from God - they must also validate their claim
just as the prophets did who came before.
For ignoring God's advice, through His prophets,
will certainly have disastrous results.

What is the law??
Part of the Jewish law included those laws found
in the Old Testament. When Pauls says that non-
Jews are no longer bound by these laws, he is
not saying that the Old Testament laws do not
apply to us today. He is saying certain types
of laws may not apply to us. In the Old Testament
there were three categories of laws:
Ceremonial Law;
This kind of law relates specifically to Israel's
worship (example, Leviticus 1:1-13). Its
primary purpose was to point forward to Jesus
Christ. Therefore, these laws were no longer
necessary after Jesus' death and resurrection.
While we are no longer bound by ceremonial laws,
the principles behind them - to worship and love
a Holy God - certainly still apply. The Jewish
Christians often accused the Gentile Christians
of violating the ceremonial laws.
Civil Law;
This type of law dictated Israel's daily living
(example Deuteronomy 24:10,11). Because modern
society and culture are so radically different,
some of these guidelines cannot be followed
specifically. But the principles behind the
commands should guide our conduct. At times, Paul
asked Gentile Christians to follow some of these
laws, not because they had to, but in order to
promote unity.
Moral Law;
This sort of law is the direct command of God -
for example, the Ten Commandments (Exodus
20:1-17). It requires strick obedience. It reveals
the nature and will of God, and it still applies
to us today. We are to obey this moral law, not
to obtain salvation, but to live in ways pleasing
to Father.
