People still use the ICoC's former beliefs to define the whole of the restoration movement.
And to think, that fellow got an 'A' on his independant study for his doctorate!
^_^
Look:
Dear Dr. Heck,
In the first place, Pastor Schweitzer never said that these Campbellite profs were going to teach Concordia's students in the classroom. Your protestation was that "First, their professors are not teaching our kids." He plainly said, "These Campbellite students will run rings around our Lutheran kids!"
You protest that Concordia will not be "the host campus." Are they going to use any classrooms, gym, dorm and theater facilities and are their profs going to be adjunct profs? I would call that "hosting."
What are the profs going to be doing if not teaching? Are not their students going to be in classes with Concordia's undergrads?
It is clear that you do not know the Campbellite CoC the way many of us in the field know them. "...we recognize them as sincere Christian people." They are aggrssive, sneaky, dishonest and Biblically perverted. They are a cult akin to the Mormons. Their students will, in guerrilla fashion, seek to get every Concordia student they come into contact to doubt that he can be saved as a Lutheran or whatever - he must be baptized by immersion into the CoC, since there is no other saving church.
Concordia - and I would like to know whose idea this fiasco was - has made a very big mistake.
Pastor Schwietzer is a fine fellow. He did not apologize for the content of the letter. I, too, am a grad of Concordia Austin, HS and JC. But I support other universities, for I am deeply disappointed in my Alma Mater for this and other reasons.
