Recepie for 'Eastenders'

1. Take equal quantities of 'Neighbours' and 'Sons and Daughters'.

2. Uproot and move the entire thing to the east end of London.

3. Improve the quality of the acting (debatable), spice up the story lines a lot.

4. Add a smattering of aging, has been comedians.

5. Mix well and serve 4 times a week at prime time.

but then you think to yourself - what football is andy talking about - is it the one with a round ball which is really called soccer or football with a oval shaped red thing and big men beating each other up to get a ball?

Sascha Fitzpatrick
14th March 2005, 05:14 AM
Or the one with men in tight shorts... ooo such a hard decision!

Andy Broadley

This story is a free spirit, it goes where it wants to go.:D At the moment it is residing on the planet football, where it engaged in a titanic struggle of Justice v Gridiron.;) Soon it's work here will be done and it will go wherever it feels it is needed (or we send it).

Hmmm...lets see now. Australian rules football. A strange game. It should really be called Australian No Rules Football, because there basically don't seem to be any rules. However, they do ahve at least 15 umpires to administer them. The players wear sleeveless shirts, which one supposes is to stop the opposition from ripping them off and using them as garottes.

The game itself seems to be about 25 per side, played on a round pitch, so nobody knows which way they are playing. It is a freeforall of violence in which you can do just about anything you like to the ball (and the other teams players for that matter).

However, in the middle of this carnage, the game will suddenly stop, and everyone will stand looking at the guy who is holding the ball. They will then all stand quietly at a respectful distance while the guy kicks the ball into the goal. Oh, there are six goals by the way, did I mention that.

Like I said, strange game....

*Andy ties BillR to a tree, coats him in honey and releases the bears (and the ants)*

Bill slips free of the ropes because of the honey and runs away from the bear and ants to watch football on t.v. - sorry Abiel back to the story

Just then there was a power black out and the hot dogs rolled on the floor...looking at each other like lost puppies they wondered how to fill the time, what better way than to start a story..

Football the Australian way.

Played on an Oval
7 Umpires (2 Goal umpires, 2 boundary umpires and 3 field umpires)
The field umpires call the shots. There is 3 of them because its such a large field.
The Goal umpires signal weather it is a point (1 point added) or a Goal (6 points added)
The Boundary umpires throw the ball in when it has gone out of bounds.

2 Teams play with 18 players on each side.
There a 4 players on the bench

If someone Kicks you the Ball and you catch it on the full, then this is called a 'mark', and means you get a free kick.

The game is played over 4 quarters, each 20mins long + time on, therefore an average match will last around 2 hours.

AFL players are amongst the fittest and toughest in the world, most running over 10km a game and some up to 20km.
When they get knocked HARD and fall to the ground, they get back up and keep playing, they dont roll around on the ground like a sissy pretending they are hurt.

SOMETHING FROM THE FRIDGE -

Congrats to your team for winning the Premiership cup last year....

However one thing i DO NOT LIKE is Byron Pickett....Not only does the guy smash up his car drink driving (and hes supposed to be a role model for many young children) He ALSO takes people 'out' on the field. His eyes are not on the ball, they are on the man, and he doesnt seem to care about other peoples health....

But congrats to the rest of your team...:)
