"Any of it [teaching] that is good is in the Word of God, and any that is not in the Word of God is not good. I am a Bible Christian and if an archangel with a wingspread as broad as a constellation shining like the sun were to come and offer me some new truth, I'd ask him for a reference. If he could not show me where it is found in the Bible, I would bow him out and say, 'I'm awfully sorry, you don't bring any references with you'"- A.W. Tozer

George MacLeod of Scotland said, "I simply argue that the cross should be raised at the center of the marketplace as well as on the steeple of the church. I am recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves; on the town’s garbage heap; at a crossroad, so cosmopolitan they had to write His title in Hebrew and Latin and Greek . . . at the kind of a place where cynics talk smut, and thieves curse, and soldiers gamble. Because that is where He died. And that is what He died for. And that is what He died about. That is where church-men ought to be and what church-men ought to be about."

Genuine faith may be in the soul like a hidden seed, but as yet it may not have budded and blossomed into joy and peace.

"In view of the testimony offered by the writers of scripture, Christian faith rests on the surest grounds possible. Of course I've not seen every claim by every religion there is, but of those I have seen none other comes even close to having the grounds we have for Christian trust in God. Contrary to some, even some Christians, our faith is not a blind faith, but one backed up by clear and evident proof, beginning with the existence of God to the revelation of Himself in Jesus Christ. Those who reject the evidence do not do so because of the lack of evidence, but because of their own errant hearts."

Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought.

Actually Josh Mcdowell said it this way......

"true freedom isn't doing what you want to do, but doing what you know is right."

The next moment is as much beyond our grasp, as as much in God's care, as the next hundred years away. Care for the next minute is as foolish as care for a day in the next thousand years. In neither we can do anything, in both God is doing everything--C.S. Lewis

A rule I have had for years is: to treat the Lord Jesus Christ as a personal friend. His is not a creed, a mere doctrine, but it is He Himself we have--D.L. Moody

"Important as it is that we recognize God working in us, I would yet warn against an over preoccupation with the thought. It is a sure road to sterile passivity. God will not hold us responsible to understand the mysteries of election, predestination and the divine sovereignty. The best and safest way to deal with these truths is to raise our eyes to God and in deepest reverence say, ‘Oh Lord Thou knowest.’ Those things belong to the deep and mysterious Profound of God's omniscience. Prying into them may make theologians, but it will never make saints."
AW Tozer

"Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become ‘unity’ conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship. Social religion is perfected when private religion is purified. The body becomes stronger as its members become healthier. The whole church of God gains when the members that compose it begin to seek a better and a higher life."
AW Tozer

"If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning."

"The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian."

AW Tozer

William Tyndale

"Our prayers lay the track down which God’s power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails."
Watchman Nee

"God does not have to come and tell me what I must do for Him, He brings me into a relationship with Himself where I hear His call and understand what He wants me to do, and I do it out of sheer love to Him... When people say they have had a call to foreign service, or to any particular sphere of work, they mean that their relationship to God has enabled them to realize what they can do for God."
Oswald Chambers

Hello everyone. I'm new to this website...just thought I'd share a couple quotes that have meant a great deal to me:

"If Jesus Chrsit be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him." - CT Studd

"In our private communions with God, time is essential to the value of the prayer. Much time spent with God is the secret of all successful praying." - EM Bounds

"Spirituality that saves men from hell and keeps men from vulgar sins is wonderful, but, i believe elementary. When Paul went to the Cross, the miracle of conversion and regeneration took place; but later when he got on the Cross, the greater miracle of identification took place." - Leonard Ravenhill

Well those are some quotes that have meant a great deal to me. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Your brother in Christ,

Stephen
