When we are feeling "the power of God," or "the presence of God," is it sometimes just an emotion?
How can we tell whether or not the "power" or the "presence" is real, not just a feeling?

I have wondered that myself, as the mind can play games with us. I usually do not know that this feeling is coming though, so it is not as if I am asking for it,or even thinking about it.
I used to think it was caffiene ;)

Good question especially for this day and age where many churchs try to bring this on in their worship services. Some churchs try to play off of peoples emotions thinking that if you are emotional about signing or whatever that God is moving in you. Of course this is not always the case. Some make this out to be almost a mystic sort of thing.
I think (or feel) that when God is moving it is not just for the sake of a emotional recation but a heart reaction. It usually comes with some conviction. Getting people whipped up in emotion playing it off as God is moving is very fleeting. Emotions can wear off very quickly. Usually by the time you get to you car and drive home. I believe that if God is moving in someone that it reaches beyond that. But then again we can get so set in our ways that even when He does move in us that we can put the breaks on it by not listening and changing.
There has been many times I have felt the power of God and have been sure that it was Him and not just an emotion. They are usually things that on my own I could not have done. There is usually insight in to a situation that was beyound my understanding or a sensitivity beyound what normally have. I guess the easiest way for me to word this is that God is greater than me and if He is truly moving in me than I am doing things greater than I am able to do without Him.
