Church or meeting house?

Does your congregation call its building a church or a meeting house?

we call it the church building. our pastor reminds us frequenly it's just a building that assists us in the Lord's work.

I do not believe any true Baptist preacher would ever call any building a "church". The church is the people, and wherever they might gather would be a church building to the congregation.

"Church" is a noun that falls under the category "people" not "places". :P :angel:

We meet in houses, and we simply refer to it as fellowship. :)

We call ours, a multi-purpose building.

we call it the "church" which really means "building where we meet together" as in "I'm going to the church tonight for a meeting" it's the name of the place.

it's common understanding that the people are what make up the church, and the "church" is just where we do activities (including having *church* on Sunday mornings)

I think the word church is used in too many ways!
It can be a noun "the church" (meaning the building, the people, the service, etc.)
it can be a verb "to be churched"
it can be an adjective "churchy"
