Please pray this week for my friend Melli who is scheduled to be induced on Friday. She and her husband are very nervous about the birth of their baby boy.
The story behind the prayer request...
Melli was due with her first child just a few days before I was due with Bekah last April. She had a noraml pregnancy and was due on a Friday, and her doctor scheduled her for an induction on Monday if she didn't go into labor on her own. On Sunday she posted that she was spotting and that she thought she was finally in labor.
They went to the hospital Sunday evening, only to discover that when the baby had finally dropped into position on Sunday that his cord had broken (it was too thin and too short) so their baby was born stillborn. The pictures she later shared of him were so heart breaking - he looked like he was just sleeping in her arms.
Melli's courage in sharing her story saved my daughters life. My daughter was 10 days overdue and was starting to show signs of some minor complications. My OBGYN said we were going to need a c-section, but offered to do a trail induction first. With Melli's experience in mind, we opted to go straight to a c-section. Turns out there were 5 life threatening complications, including a thin cord, that individually or collectively could have claimed the life of our daughter and quite possibly my own if we had tried the induction.
Todah Rabah for your prayers!
