Explain what "Come out of her my people" means to you.
:)
You 'can' use an 'extra sheet of paper' if you need to. ;)

I thought that was why we ended up here... is because we came out of her.

There are 4 levels of interpretation for (almost) every verse.
Which one are you looking for?
The word babylon comes from the root word "babel" which means confusion. Babylon is a state/place of profound confusion.
There is a literal place called Babylon which will be judged by fire for it's wickedness and godlessness like He judged Sodom, Gomorrah, Nineveh, and even Jerusalem.
There is an application of this principle that says we should not dwell among the wicked.
There is an individual spiritual condition called "babylon" that will be judged by fire at the Throne of G-d. It is a worldly lifestyle where man is god.
There is a mystical religious system that seeks to rebuild the tower of Babel and make a name for "us"

If you get me started, then 50 words or less does not even begin to discribe the journey from Babylon to where I am today... and I am not too sure I am all the way out yet.

Actually I was more interested in the phrase than doing a drash. I looked this up on the net and see that it is interpreted in many ways.. In my OP I never mentioned Babylon, for a reason, that was part of my question of what this means TO YOU. Many interpret "her" as different things, just looking for what ppl here think it is.
I personally look at this as an plea from HaShem since Egypt. :)

I think the biggest eye opening experience that revealed the contrast the greatest was my personal experience with "Holy"... The fact that it is not a theory, but a real life reality. When Yeshua said my world is not this world, He was not kidding. The contrast is so great, that it is impossible to even begin to describe the differences, though many have tried. From the moment you receive a concept on any given subject, it came from the tree of knowledge. This concept is either true or false. The true concept is good and comes from God. The false concepts are lies from the devil, that will ultimately blind/bind you from the reality of God's world.
Genesis 2:9
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.It is not that God didn't want us to know knowledge, it was that He wanted to be our teacher of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.God knew that without His instructions regarding this knowledge, we would misuse it to our own detriment.
Genesis 3:5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.Satan was deceptful, in trying to convince them that they would have their eyes opened from eating the fruit, they were blinded by the lie and the door was opened for Satan to mislead the human race into His own deranged thinking.
Genesis 3:22
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:God has always provided us with knowledge, in fact in the last generations, knowledge has increased exponentally.... and has been since the dark ages. While we are growing in knowledge, if we do not learn the first principals of living a Godly life, then while we may be like gods, God will not allow us to live forever corrupt.
Learning about this world that God lives in forever, that I also may live forever, is larger than the few moments that are spent on this world of lies and deceptions to its ultimate abominations of desolation. It is like trying to conceive infinitely perfect.

I like that Vis, can I sum that up by saying, come out of the unholy into the holy?
How even are we to know if we don't know and follow his directions ( Torah) Is not his Word, his Torah, HOLY? To keep us from falling into that which seems right?

HI Y'all, I liked the way you started this...In fifty words or less...
Revelation 18:1-10 NAS Revelation 18:1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. 2 And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her plagues; 5 for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 "Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. 7 "To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.' 8 "For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong. 9 "And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.'
This speaks volumes to me! I need to be watchful, because where I live may be "Her" (the USA) where I worship may be "Her" (Torahless Congregations or Churchs) and where I'm "at" may be "Her"(If my life is described by the verses above than WATCH-OUT!) Fortunately by the Grace of my/our Father I am "at" a good place in my life, my congregation practices and teaches the Torah, so the only thing I am very watchful of is this country I live in, I am preparing my heart for another Great Exodus if the Father chooses to have one...I think that may be something to watch for...but who knows :)
(This is my first serious post so go easy on me:wave: )

Exodus, very good!
Shalom Tishri, and welcome!
To do a quote, look under the Quick reply field ( where you typed your message) and click on "Go Advanced" . You will see a bunch of icons under "Message", the one all the way to the right that looks like a cartoon balloon is the quote button. Or if you want to quote what someone else said in the thead, click on the quote button at the bottom of THEIR post.
Or put your message inbetween these [Quot e] [/Quote] just remove the space between the t and e in the first bracket so it will work.

Thanks Zayit, I'll have to play around with it I'm sure to make it work.
So how would you put that in 50 words or less, I'm very curious:pray:
