Many Christians would tell you that Jesus is now our Sabbath rest.

Hebrews 4

The Believer's Rest

1Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have (A (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30016A))come short of it.

So how do you come short of it if Christ is the rest people speak of. To me he is the rest God speaks of if we imitate him, which would mean we Rest on the Sabbath day also.

2For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but (B (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30017B))the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

So We need to combine the Sabbath day rest with the faith in Christ. So it's faith that causes people to see God gave us a day for our good to rest and learn more about him and become closer to him.

3For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
"(C (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30018C))AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH,
THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,"
although His works were finished (D (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30018D))from the foundation of the world.

4For He has said (E (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30019E))somewhere concerning the seventh day: "(F (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30019F))AND GOD (G (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30019G))RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";

He didn't need to rest but when he did he saw that it was good and wanted to give HIS children a gift. A gift mind you people don't take. Think about how he feels that his children throw his gift back in his face.

5and again in this passage, "(H (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30020H))THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST."

HMM Wonder why!

6Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of (I (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30021I))disobedience,

There you go!!!

7He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just (J (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30022J))as has been said before,
"(K (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30022K))TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." He is still hoping HIS children will listen to his words and open their hearts, instead of just giving him lip service.

8For (L (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30023L))if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

9So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

For the people of God, how wonderful is it to be HIS people.

10For the one who has entered His rest has himself also (M (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30025M))rested from his works, as (N (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30025N))God did from His.

REST in our world is a great thing to have 24 hrs to rest and worship our creator.

11Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same (O (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30026O))example of (P (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30026P))disobedience.

So it sounds like we disobey when we don't use the Sabbath day the way he intended. There's no other Day and he never Changed it.

12For (Q (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027Q))the word of God is (R (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027R))living and (S (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027S))active and sharper than any two-edged (T (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027T))sword, and piercing as far as the division of (U (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027U))soul and (V (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027V))spirit, of both joints and marrow, and (W (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30027W))able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The word should be alive in us!

13And (X (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30028X))there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are (Y (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30028Y))open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

He knows what everyone does and our minds.

14Therefore, since we have a great (Z (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30029Z))high priest who has (AA (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30029AA))passed through the heavens, Jesus (AB (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30029AB))the Son of God, let us hold fast our (AC (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30029AC))confession.

15For we do not have (AD (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30030AD))a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been (AE (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30030AE))tempted in all things as we are, yet (AF (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30030AF))without sin.

16Therefore let us (AG (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30031AG))draw near with (AH (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hebrews%204;&version=49;#cen-NASB-30031AH))confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Mat 12

Lord of the Sabbath

8"For (G (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 12:1-8; Mark 2:23-28; Luke 6:1-5#cen-NASB-23498G))the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

How do you argue with that!!?

Well that is the really cool thing about a Hebraic mindset - you can hold both at the same time with out being in conflict  If we understood that better it would resolve soooo much conflict.

You are right and you are also right - it really works that way

So could the sabbath rest also be found in the Temple of God?

Revelation 11:1
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.Telll what is the difference between those in the outer court and those who have "entered in" to God's place of rest.
Revelation 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. Our minds will be at rest, it will not be out there in the world of controversies, as we abide in Him.

Hi Y'all,

I truly believe in resting on the Sabbath, and working up to that day is part of the "rest" for me.

I try to start thinking about my day with the Father, and Yeshua, and my family and friends about Wednessday, and get good and ready to rest by Sundown Friday...

When it works, we have a great Sabbath Day...peaceful, without strife, worries ect...

when it doesn't, meaning I wasn't as prepared by Sundown Friday; then that's ok... but guess what? It always seems that those days My mind is still thinking about this world, and my body aint enjoying the day as much either and often I'm even looking forward to the time when the day will end:blush:

But thats ok cuz most of the time I'm somewhere closer to the first example I gave... at peace, and resting, "chillin" with my family

And those Sabbaths I'm not "with it" just remind me that this is something that's apart of life... always learning how to "chill" with my Father till the day that is "ALL Shabbat":)

SEE YA, Tishri1:wave:
