our priest made an interesting point about the Gospel text. He said something like this: have any of you, like me, whished you could have a mystical experience so real you would never have any doubts again. I wish that a lot but in reading todays gospel i discovered at least part of my problem. The first sentance says they went up to a high mountain. Most of us aren't willing to do the work (climb the mountain) one has to do to have this kind of experience. (Climbing mountains -- or carrying our crosses-- is hard work!!)
