I've come to realise that my 'passion' ministry would be towards women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, or are suffering from PASS (post abortion stress syndrome).
I was wondering if some of the Aussies in particular would know the services that the SA provides for these women - whether that's housing, financial assistance, counselling, etc etc.
My main annoyance is that a lot of people speak of the ills of abortion, and protest about it, yet do not think to step in and support the organisations that provide practical help to these men and women in the middle of all of this - or even provide assistance as they can. It is a major consternation within the pro-choice environment as well - people are willing to speak out against it, yet do not think to provide the services needed by those women choosing to continue with the pregnancy.
I don't know as yet how much I want my involvement to be (ie whether it is just to give money so that more advertising is done about these programs) or it is to help out in the homes or whatever, but I feel a burden to do something. I'd like to think the SA has something working in this area...
I just don't want to be part of the problem (ie yelling about it, without providing an outlet), I want to be part of the solution...
Thanks for any info!
