:preach:

I am a college student planning on going into full time ministry, and I attend a Methodist Church. Recently my pastor asked me if I would preach for him at the end of the month because he would be on a retreat. He told me that he would be in the middle of a series of sermons and asked that I stay within the same guidelines as his series. He had planned on preaching on "Why Did Jesus Die?" and told me to use that as my title/question. I have an idea of where this is headed, but I want to get some ideas of how other Christians would answer the question "Why Did Jesus Die?" All comments are appreciated!

well Onesimus,
You have asked a question that people have been debating a long time, yet there is no definite answer either way, but i belive that he died for all of us, for the sins of the world, for all the people who rejected him and for the people who accepted him. Course i could be wrong or dont have the whole picture in my head, but if u have any comments or anything just send me a post.
thanks and good luck on the sermon

Wow, he died, because he loved us, because he chose to, because he was obedient unto death, because it was the only way...
He died to reconcile us to the Father--to restore to us (broken humanity) the relationship originally intended by God at the Creation of the earth
