One of CF's administrators, Flesh99, and his wife and baby are in need of our prayers. They are experiencing an unexpected breech birth and had to call 911. The paramedics are at their house. Please pray for mom, baby, and Flesh99.

Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.

From Flesh99:

Baby was born wtih and apgar of 3 and that was generous. Blue in color, erractic breathing, 40 bpm for the heart. Praise God for the paramedics. By the time we were leaving in the ambulance she was breathing on her own and at the hospital the apgar was up to 7. Mom is fine, labor was under an hour. Her water broke at 8:34 and the baby presented feet first at 9:10, paramedics were called at 9:02 and full delivery was about 9:20. Sinead is in neo-natal ICU at Memorial-Hermman hospital here in Houston. She is having minor seizures and has been taken for an MRI and so I am home to clean up myself and get some food in me so I don't fall down. Please pray for the baby and strength for us.

I was born breach, please tell them to check for Brachial Plexus injury. If detected early, intervention and therapy is crucial.

From Flesh99:

OK home for 20 minutes, at most. WE have to be back for Michelle to breastfeed at 1400.

SO SInead is doing much better, the Erb's Palsy is waning which was expected. The EEG results are not in yet but the official results are in on everything else and everything is normal. Things are looking real good for a Monday release. In fact if the EEG is good that's pretty likely. Michelle has been discharged and we are in "care by parent" room in the NICU unit. We do not have Sinead with us yet but it's possibel that will happen tonight or tomorrow.

Things are going great thus far, and I get around 4 hours of good solid sleep last night. If you knew me and knew how hospitals make me feel you would know that in and of itself that is no small miracle. The bed in the CBP room is big enough for me and Michelle so I will sleep tonight, with my arms around my beautiful wife! Keep praying, all we need now is a clean EEG.

Everyone whose congregation forum has prayer thread is more than welcome to copy these updates to those threads. I would not want to keep people wondering or not have them praising God for everything so far!

This is good news. I was not so lucky, but luckier than most.

More from the tired but happy dad:

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate dailup? Well the youth minister t church laoned me his laptop because on top of everything else I was feeling sort of disconnected not being able to update, and I have a lot of time while the wife is sleeping and I am not able to. So I am online from the hospital via AOL at the moment.

More to update. She is off the monitors when we are in the room to allow for more comfort of all involved. She is totally off the pulseox monitor as it's no longer necessary. They have removed the IV and are switching to an oral phenobarb because the IV was in her left arm and since she's started to regain movement we wanted that to be unhindered. That's so far the only thing they were hesitant about but since we agreed that if IV fluids or antiboitics were necessary they could start another without contacting us they went ahead and did it!

It's looking good for a Monday release at this point and we are pretty excited about that. Butit does me we will have to b very vigilant. The phenobarb wears off in 3-5 days and they don't want to keep us that long period and aren't sure whether or not they are going to keep her on it at this point. If the EEG is clear the neuro team won't want to but the attending doc kind of does. I am agreeing with the neuro team and promised to bring her back here and not the pediatrician if she presents with seizure symptoms again. So it looks like Monday, with no meds, and a clean bill of health for my baby to come home.

As always, please copy this out to the congregation forums for updating the prayer threads. I can only imagine the sheer number of people praying for my family right now and that's pretty humbling!
