View Full Version : New Drink in the Taverna !

OK, here it is, proof that we are vampires, a fresh keg of O+ on the house.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It is also important to note that while the vampire legend is nearly universal, it reached its most epidemic proportions in heavily Catholic (or Orthodox) eastern Europe. Most cultures have taboos against drinking blood. This can doubtless be traced back to the command the Lord gave Noah after the flood forbidding the drinking of blood (Gen. 9:4). It is ironic that both the Catholic and Orthodox religions feature as their central superstition the idea of drinking blood and eating flesh (under the sacramental appearance of wine and bread) against the specific commands of God. That these religions are dominant in cultures where vampirism (both in legend and in practice) runs deep is significant. People seem to know instinctively that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins (Heb. 9:22), yet Satan will do anything he can to keep them from the one kind of blood which CAN save them - God's own Blood (Acts 20:28). The psychiatric literature is full of cases of people who drink others' blood, often to the point of murder. Such people report an incredible "peace" after such an experience.
A surprising number of these people perform their vampirism in a religious context of some sort, quite frequently rooted in Catholicism. Such was my case. I was introduced to the vampire cult by members of the Orthodox clergy, who led me to believe that they were the ancient custodians of the true secret of resurrection: drinking the blood of the living! (For a full account of my descent into this nightmare world, see Lucifer Dethroned chapters 1 & 18.)

Not sure if it is copyrighted, though I am not sure why one would claim it  so here is the Complete article (http://www.chick.com/es/seasonal/halloween/vampireletter.asp) (and unfortunately it is not the Onion Dome)

So according to the author, I actually did my soul a favor by not taking Holy Communion this morning (I wasn't prepared).
But (according to authors of such books) I thought it was "faith", and not "works", that saved us? So if I, in my deluded ways, believed I was doing the right thing by attending an Orthodox Liturgy, believing that I was participating in the worship of the Holy Trinity, but in fact drinking human blood as part of a "satanic" ritual, is it my works that now condemn me?
Does that mean that the only time our good intentions matter is when we make that Altar Call? Cf. 1 Timothy 1:13.
Of course, any first year student at St. Vlad's will tell you that the whole dichotomy of "faith" versus "works" is artificial and absurd, but I am a slow learner, that's all.

Wait, guys. Theology is important and all, but I think we're missing the point of this thread. I think the real issue here is: What shall we call this new drink? I mean, we can't rightly walk into the Taverna and buy everyone a round of blood, or we'll scare all the inquirers off. So, any ideas?
While I'm waiting for your ideas, I'll wander up to the Taverna and order my old stand-by, the Flaming Heretic.

Bill Schnoebelen is an authenticated fraud. He is also a former Mormon as well as a former Wiccan, Satanist, and finally born again christian. He has just "invented" his Vampire past. Im sure that in the future, we'll see Bill claiming to have belonged to still another cult of somekind. (Im guessing neo-pagan.)
Someone this unstable is not to be taken seriously.

"Oh-positive" sounds fine to me :)
Has anyone here ever bought "plasma port"? It is port packaged not in a bottle, but in the same plastic sacks used for blood plasma and other fluids used for hospital patients who are on the drip :D (not to be taken intraveniously though). For good effect, the sack can be hung upside down and the contents consumed directly from the plastic tube attached :yum:

Knowing the medical profession here in the USA, a mixup could happen.
I guess you've heard of the mistakes here. One guy had his good leg amputated and another person found out that they had taken his good kidney and left him with one failing kidney. Surgery can be harmful to one's health.
Then there was the case where a man complained of pain in his abdomen. The doctors said it was all in his head until they x-rayed him and found some surgical instruments which they had accidentally left inside him. Ooops.

Chick will publish anything, won't he?
Vampire Orthodox clergy?
I have type A- blood. I've noticed that fleas don't seem to like it much (they never bite me), but mosquitoes do.
Are vampires more like fleas or mosquitoes?

AB+ here. Guess I can take blood from anyone on the planet. Also, mosquitos and fleas don't bother me. Not sure if it's my blood type or what that keeps them at bay.

Looky looky, guys: someone hasn't done his homework (again). Mind that he's speaking about Orthodox priests here.
Their claims to me were verified by initiations which I experienced that ultimately produced in me a marked aversion to all food except for human blood, communion wafers and sacramental wine!
Pass me a round of some middling expensive stuff, if you don't mind. Maybe some A- or some such thing.

Fascinating, Captain. Seems that the old Blood Libel never quites dies, it just moves to Egypt or in this case, it mutates.

Excellent point!
The Romans accused the Fathers of cannibalism; now the sectarians accuse us of being vampires!

Very observant!
The author doesn't really know much about Orthodoxy, does he?

Ah yes, I forgot about that slip up EOL, proof positive that they were making it up out of whole cloth, like the rest of Chick fiction.

Actually, given the kooky sects that are out there, claiming the name "orthodox", it is entirely possible that he is giving a truthful account of his involvement with what he believes was an orthodox church. After all, we are still relatively unknown in the U.S., so it is quite possible that someone's first exposure to something connected with the name "orthodox" might be someone like "Patriarch" Abbot Bishop George Burke of the so called "Light of Christ Monastery" (which is anything but :(). I suspect that Burke's group is not the worst of what is out there either.
Of course it is also quite likely that it is complete fiction, but I'm not about to fork out any money for his book to determine just what group he supposedly belonged to.

I bet you eat plenty of chili and beans. They hate that.
But you better beware of hominy grits and molasses as they are attracted to sweets.
BTW, I'm also AB+ and both mosquitos and fleas are attracted to me whenever I have a sweet tooth. However, if I eat lost of brown rice, beans, and salads, then they avoid me.
Oh it's beans, beans, beans
They make you taste so mean. ....

Who is this Chick moron?
Vampires indeed! If only he knew.
I barely remember seeing some of those tracts in the post office and on public transport. He's writing stuff about the Orthodox now?
You know, I have some spare risperdal around the house. I'm willing to send Chick a tiny, but much needed care package. :P

Yup, the sad thing is that there really are people out there who take him seriously. Including the couple who run the Christian bookstore in town. They have a rack of his tracts on the checkout counter. :sigh:
