How do you become an Officer

Hi i was wandering how do you become an officer in the Salvation Army and what type of schooling you need. Plus does it matter if you are single because i know they like married couples to do this together.

1. Get called by God.
2. Tell Corps Officer
3.Embark on a vast series of assessments and interviews.
4.Get accepted for college
5. Go to Army college for 2 years.
6. Come out an officer.

It's fine to be single, and there are distance learning and non-college options for special circumstances.

If you weren't brought up in the SA (like me) this could be how it goes:

Attend a Salvation Army corps/temple/church
Become an Adherent (attending member of church)
Become a Soldier (I think this involves doing some training or something)
Get called by God.
Tell Corps Officer
Embark on a vast series of assessments and interviews.
Get accepted for college
Go to Army college for 2 years.
Come out an officer.
I'm currently at 2, whether I go any further is up to God.

Bill, its called a signature. I think you have to get to a certain number of posts or blessings before you are allowed one. If you click on User CP (Control Panel) at the top left of the page, it takes you to your control panel, and down the left side of the page are a list of edit options, inclucing edit signature if you're able to do it. When you click on 'edit signature' it takes you to a page where you can create your signature. I chose a verse that means a lot to me to use as my signature, you can type anything you like in.

I feel that way plmarquette because I'm currently dealing with depression. I know God can use me still, but I'm probably making it difficult for Him.
