i'll start with the bad news first - 15-30 is senior camp in vic - but there is always being a leader!!!!

basically it is just music camp with other creative stuff

streams offered this year were

brass band
brass ensemble
big band
worship band
dance
timbrels (i love timbrels :D)
multimedia

week long camp that has been held at the mountain valley campsite near the basin for the last 25 years, but the higher powers have decided it is a good idea to sell that off cos it doesn't make money.

word has it that it will be at phillip island next year.

there is also a lot of socialising, and bible stuff. it is no longer just music, but a spiritual experience as well

We call it 'asca' (anglian school of creative arts). Sounds fab. Friends made, lives changed...even husbands and wives found.

And so you should. My young people are praying for their husbands and wives, and they havent even met them yet! She is out there! She just needs to be located! In God's time, of course!

That sounds familiar :D

I was praying for my wife before I met her, and by name too ;) Long story, maybe later.....

Up here it's call QPAS (Queensland Performing Arts School), I think it happens in September, and the kids seem to have a lot of fun!

They have brass band, dance, drama, timbrels, puppets, etc, as well as individual instrument workshop. It always ends up with a concert at BCT (Brisbane City Temple), and usually at least one more couple springs up out of it! :D

Arg, these youth camps - always end up with an attachment! :)

Easter Camp is still and will always be better though!

Sounds a bit like what used to be called Music School (which was of course very Army)

i think that's the one i want to try and get across for. i talk to chris brindley occasionally on msn and was talking about camps. he reckons the brisbane one is a lot more relaxed than the melbourne one. i like relaxed. playing music technically perfect is not one of my interests

Trying to play music technically perfect is not good for anything, except raising stress levels.

What was it General Booth said about marching to the beat of a different drum?

(Whats that sound I hear in the distance. Could it be ITF starting up the Linkometer?);)

That man was ahead of his time! He would loved the new music today, offbeat drumming and all that.

Possibly not what he had in mind....

I do think a drummer should be able to count to 4.

Unlike the sound guys, who only need to count to 2
