It seems that many Christians DON'T believe

that 'Common Law Marriage' IS a LEGAL-marriage.

(although, the law says that it is.)

They (=many -but not all- Christians) teach that

'to be legal', a-man-and-a-woman:

NEED to have a marriage-license.

(How do all of you, feel about this teaching of theirs?)

There is a hypocracy in this with regards to the religious groups .

From *my* pov , CLM is the government's way of getting their hands on a religious act when people have found a loophole . The government has no right to proclaim marraige when people don't want them involved .

Yes.

(sadly many Christians CAN'T see this.)

(I feel they've been convinced by some 'sermon' -or something-.)

I feel there's reasoning behind:
-----------------------------

"Be ye WISE as serpents, and innocent as doves."

-The Bible.

(to ME this implys a 'blindness' among -certain- Christians. Like a 'blindness' in the area of marriage.)
