As Anglicans, lets us too pray for the Bishop of Rome

I said a Hail Mary on their rosary in their Chapel.

It's occurred to me in the past that this is probably something that would ideally be part of the Prayer of the Faithful at our church services on a regular basis. If we truly believe that the Bishop of Rome is first among equals and descended from St. Peter by lines of spirtual authority in his diocese, but seperated in some respects from the church's teachings by heretical notions of his own infallibility and extra-territorial authority, then it would seem as if he could really use the prayers of the Anglican faithful. Maybe God would work a miracle for us and reunite the church. Less likely things have probably already happened through prayer where it's been God's will.

This thread makes a lot more sense upon learning than John-Paul II is in the hospital. Just in case I'm not the last one to know, I thought I'd make mention of it here.
I apologize if my earlier comments seemed a bit out of place in light of the pontif's failing health (They were more advocating prayers of a more general nature for JPII). Despite my theological disagreements with him, JP II is a holy man, brimming to the top with love for God and neighbor, and I pray that God will watch over him.

Did you see him try to release those peace doves the other day. They wouldn't leave him. Kept flying inside. What a hoot! I agree, whatever theological differences he is still a holy man and worthy of our prayers.

I agree, and Pope John Paul II is the kind of Christian we can look up to. I think the beginning of my realization of that was when he went up and hugged the lepers. That was so wonderful to see.

I too send my prayers that the Lord bless and uphold the Pontiff. While I also do not agree on many points with his theology, I do agree that he is indeed a holy man, and I have great admiration and respect for him.
