Please try to look at it (=marriage) in THIS following way:

There are TWO marriages:

1) Legal Marriage

It's a 'contract', if you will.
2) Spiritual Marriage

God, in HIS power, and in HIS way, and in HIS time,
JOINS their two-spirits-together, ALL BY HIMSELF (and ONLY HIMSELF EVER.)
So...

(=A spirit-to-spirit-connection -of the two=a husband-and-wife, MADE BY GOD HIMSELF.)
PLEASE: LET'S NOT EVER CONFUSE THE TWO.

What I mean by this:

Certain 'biblical-experts' (no names),
will point out various verses from the bible,

WITHOUT 'SEEING':
------------------
The bible speaks of marriage IN THESE TWO DIFFERENT WAYS.
Thus...
Some 'marriage'-verses ARE LEGAL (mostly found in The-Old-Testament.
It ALSO SEEMS that CERTAIN people (no names) Don't see a difference
between THE OLD-COVENANT (=Law)
(Yes we should still obey the law.),
and THE NEW COVENANT (=Grace)
(Purchased for us with Christ's own shed blood.)
These 'experts' would TRY (probably) to bind you under a false burden of theirs. NO THANKS:
(Here's something: Galations 3:10 ANYONE UNDER THE LAW IS UNDER A CURSE.)
(Yes we should still obey the law, however, CERTAIN of the 'non-seeing' would put you -UNDER- the law.)

(It DOES appear -to me at least- that ALL -denominations- TEACH DIFFERENTLY ON MARRIAGE (in SOME way).'

(Does that not SEEM to: LIMIT God's power?)
