View Full Version : Question about rosary in the new chapel

I was going to start a rosary in the chapel, but then I realized, hey, we're Anglicans, that complicates things! How to pray the rosary? Dominican or Anglican? Which prayers?
And strong preferences? I like how over at OBOB the first post in their rosary thread is an introductory one, explaining how to pray the rosary, making it accessible to all, and I think it would be nice if we could have a similar post.
Of course, if anyone can figure out a way to allow some flexibility, I'd love it.
Ideas? My one request is that we use the Fatima prayer (O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven,
especially those most in need of thy mercy).

No reason we can't have more than one rosary being said. I've been in real-life churches where there was more than one private devotion going on in different corners of the nave.

We can always keep one thread for each type! :D

As long as it's made clear what type of rosary is said then there's no problem. Certainly in the Anglican churches i've been to there is no such thing singular thing as 'the rosary', at least in a sense which all agree upon.

Sounds good. Are we going to use the Walsingham prayer or Hail, Holy Queen? I'd rather use Walsingham.

Walsingham Prayer
O Thou, alone of all women, Mother and Virgin, Mother most happy, Virgin most pure, now we sinful as we are, come to see thee who art all pure, we salute thee, we honour thee as how we may with our humble offerings; may Thy Son grant us, that imitating thy most holy virtues, we also, by the grace of the Holy Ghost may deserve spiritually to conceive the Lord Jesus Christ in our innermost soul, and once conceived, never to lose him. Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

Robnj, would you start a thread for the chotki? I've never really done much with those.

That would be very cool!
