The last USA/Canada NYC was in 2003 in Houston, TX. The next one will be in 2007, location TBA.

I was in Houston along with about 30 teens from Maine. It was a lifechanging time for many of our teens. The speakers and concerts were great, but one of the best parts was the MTO (mission-to-others) projects. Our group painted 3 houses. Probably one of my favorite speakers was Susie Shellenberger--I will probably always remember her story of the missionaries who were buried alive--"I Surrender All."

That was an amazing speaker.... So moving... I also really liked hearing 'Miss America' and that letter from the President...

NP! :)

You liked the letter from the president? Even though you are Canadian?

I'll be honest...I was a bit troubled--by that, but even more by Michael W. Smith's political segment in his concert--somehow the giant-flag waving portion seemed a bit over-the-top in the midst of concert (I saw him again that fall and he did the same segment--it still seemed OTT), but almost offensive in light of the fact that this was an international event.

I thought that B. Hardesty did a great job handling that point when he came back on stage and reminded that we all gather together under one banner--the banner of Christ.

But maybe my fellow Canadians were less bothered by that then I thought?

I just thought it was cool that he aknowleged that we were there!! (The President never aknowleges my part of Canada except lately because of B.S.E) Thats all I really liked about his letter... When you are generally ignored by one of the largest superpowers (he never even came to Canada in his first term!!!) it is kinda cool he wrote a letter to us!!!
