DATABASE CORRUPTED & REPAIRED - 25 Jan 2005

Apologies - at around 3 am AEST the CF database became corrupted - my fault, as I was optimizing the database and made a mistake with one of the database settings.

This caused the database to lock up and caused the forums to be inaccessible.

I found out 5 hours later when I woke up and started to repair the database.

8 hours later, the database is repaired. :)

There should be no loss of data.

I hope this has no inconvenienced anyone.

Praise God we did not lose any data. ;)

A tiny request though, when CF goes down and you say CF will be back in X number of hours... can you say what time it'll be back instead? Use GMT or something? I read your note that said CF would be back in "three hours" at 10 PM EST, so I was prepared to wait until 1 AM my time since I had no clue when you had put that message up.

sounds good to me... one can only visit the drudge report so many times in between checking on CF... especially when your like me, a dorm rat with nothing better to do than study and check CF to keep from going mad

I'm glad to see that the board is back up and running. I was beginning to suffer from withdrawal without my daily "fix" of CF. :cool: :clap:

Whenever I had some quiet time at work, I kept going back to the office to see if it was back online.
