I'm starting leading a bible study on Isaiah over the coming months, and i was wondering if any of you knew any good resources on the internet to assist- either reasearch info or sample structures. Cheers.

Good suggestion -- but if that's available on the 'net, I want that link!

Meantime, there's this:
http://members.aol.com/Sftrail/christ/comment/bible/isaiah/

Don't know how good it is. Or check out the Revised Common Lectionary (via the "When will it be read" site if necessary), find out when Isaiah comes up in the cycle, and see what Chris Haslem says on the diocese of Montreal commentary site.

Or this: http://www.stjohnadulted.org/isaiah.htm

And this: http://www.reference-guides.com/isbe/I/ISAIAH/

If you find anything good, please let me know. One of my Bible Studies might be doing Isaiah next.

I did find these questions which are typically evangelical, but perhaps with a bit of modification could be quite good. They also give a slightly different take on most of the chapters in Isaiah. http://www.gospelcom.net/ivpress/churchlink/bible/isaiah/

At the top of the site was a bit of blurb intorducing everything, and this was one of the funniest things i have ever read!
We had planned, a pastor-friend and I, a series of studies in Isaiah for an intensive one-week evening study course at his church. His enthusiasm for the studies was infectious. But when the time came, he did not attend.

Why not? Some people would put it simply: "Cancer killed him."

When put in context it makes a bit more sense but i was laughing so much at the time i couldn't read far enough to put it in context! :D

I took a class at a local Evangelical church called "The Gospel According to Isaiah." It went through the Messianic prophecies, and was really an eye opener.
Tom if you are interested I can try to contact the pastor who ran it to see if he has notes. Let me know.

I would definitely be interested, but don't put yourself out.

I had to shell out quite a bit to get The Oxford Bible Commentary, but it is well worth its price.

You can buy it via Amazon if you'd like.

I'd also recommend checking Powells online, I've bought several used academic books thru there, and they didn't look like they'd been opened more than once or twice. No highlighting, underlining, etc.
