sorry, I know of none that are specifically methodist. We Methodista are a very varied bunch--it would be hard to pigeon hole us into one particular method or sound of preaching

My parents are both preachers and though I am not a pastor, I do preach from time to time. If you take any sermons from any of the 3 of us, you will get something totally different. My father has a very strong and authoritative command of the pulpit and is a powerful preacher. My mother is very meticulous and detailed with her sermons...they are well prepared and solidly delivered. Since I am a teacher, I tend to not use notes other than maybe a brief outline and I wander around the front of the church often improvising (I hate standing behind a pulpit).
herev is right....there is no prescription to Methodist preaching. I like that about the UMC.

OOO i c so you dont know of anywhere where i can hear some sermons from some methodist? By the way did you listen to and of the baptist sermons? there pretty good, and you'll notice there not all of them are the same but there is something that stays the same like the sound in there voice or the way its delievered or something as in where the one methodist sermon i heard was just talking theses boys are like yelling and sweating and can hardly catch their breath. So i wondered if all methodist sermons are quite and stuff and do you know where i can hear one on here? if not thats okay

theses boys are like yelling and sweating and can hardly catch their breath.
Is this some sort of requirement? Yelling and sweating and not able to breathe? Is this some sign that this is the God given methodology? Just asking.
So i wondered if all methodist sermons are quite and stuff and do you know where i can hear one on here? if not thats okay
Just wondering what "quite and stuff means"? Do you mean "quiet"? Forgive me, but I am beginning to think that you are trolling for some sort of fight with the Methodists?
If I am wrong , forgive me. But what is the motive? (as I asked earlier?).

abednego, I don't know what part of Ohio you live in, but I would suggest that you find a couple of United Methodist churches in your area and simply go visit

I would also suggest the same thing. United Methodists are very diversified. There are some Conservative, Mainline, and Liberal churches within the United Methodist denomination. My experience with United Methodists is that they are very friendly and welcoming people. In fact, today, I am going to start going to a United Methodist Church regularly. They seem like a great group of people and I may even get membership there eventually.

there is no like required way to preach because gives them exactly what to preach and teaches them how to preach in general thou the speed and the voice level that they preach at is the same but of course everybodies got diffrent voices and stuff.

What i mean is - is that its quite and sounds like someone reading off a paper ya know just talking but with a message from God. You'll have to excuse me sir for being new here, because the first post i posted was in the wrong spot i guess I did not relize that we couldnt discuss our diffrences here in the -- Congregation (http://www.christianforums.com/f75-congregation.html) > Wesley's Parish - Methodist/ Nazarene (http://www.christianforums.com/f365-wesleys-parish-methodist-nazarene.html) --- But now I am simply asking a few questions which is what i was told i was allowed to do .... I feel that if I understand or learn more about methodist than i will be able to talk to some of my friends who are methodist and maybe talk to a few people on here and start to see things eye to eye ... and its always good to try and look at things from diffrent points of view ............ If you were wrong or if you saw someone was wrong and going to hell wouldnt you do eveything you could to help them? Say im doing something wrong wouldnt you tell me or try to help me in some way if it were possiable? Im not trolling for a fight with any methodist or any person on any site or anywhere ! fighting doesnt really solve anything! The word of God will do all the fighting for me! Because it is the truth, Gods holy word. I hope that I am still allowed to post questions here i mean no trouble. So excuse me sir. If im doing something that is not allowed on this site please let me know. Thank you reading.

I have found that every Methodist minister has his or her own style when it comes to sermons and how they are delivered. There is no set form or style. Personally I get turned off by the yelling/sweating/Bible thumping style that is often found here in the south. One preacher I know judged how good his sermon was based on the number of Bible verses he was able to quote. How he got from point A to point B was more confusing that that show "Connections" that used to be on.

abednego,
I am very sorry. Please forgive me. My assumptions were wrong and I am sorry for pressing you. Sometimes I get a bit antsy and misunderstand motives. Please feel free to ask any question in the future. There are many here who will gladly answer.

I will agree that UM preachers are very varied. I have heard all sorts of Methodist preachers and they all have different styles. I think what is more important is what they are saying then how they say it. Herev has posted a sermon on here that was very good. Even though WesleyJohn isn't a Methodist, he has posted a serious of sermons on here that explain how the Church of the Nazarene believes, which were very interesting reading.
If you want to know more about Methodism, I would encourage you to read sermons by John Welsey. I think there is a link to them from the official United Methodist website (www.umc.org (http://www.umc.org)) or I am sure if you googled John Wesley you could find them as well.
