there's a part of the forum called "Testing 1, 2, 3" - you can do the same thing there, then click on the image, copy the web address for it which will be in your Address bar, and then type , then paste the web address, then type

eg. http://www1.christianforums.com/att...achmentid=28227 (http://www1.christianforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28227) will show http://www1.christianforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28227 on the screen (but make sure you don't have spaces where I have put them)

I need to know how to put an image on here without the attachment showing.

The images you want to show, are they on your computer or from a website?

Images that you upload from your computer into a post will show as an attachment.

They are on my computer, if you look at the previous threads someone told me how to do it. They said to go to, go advanced. Then to Manage attachements, then I browse for my images, find them, and upload.

I did this, but they do not show up on the page until I post the message. And then they are just an attachment.

If you don't want them to show as attachment, you have to bring them onto the web:

by uploading them into the member gallery where members can upload their images and photos.

Once you have done this, you have a web address for them. You need one so that you can copy it into the code for images.

I get the images from the web, from google. I wanted a pic with chicken soup for Story Teller, so I searched for one on google.

Once I had the pic, I right clicked on it and selected "copy image location"

Then I went back to the forum, opened a new message and inserted this image location between the tags.

To tell you the truth I hardly go there. Let me make a quick check whether the rules say it is for photos only or whether images are allowed as well.

No, you have to upload first as an attachment - in the gallery. But be careful, there is a limit to the amount. Forgot how much but in your user cp you can check how many megabytes you can upload.

I think the reason is that they want to avoid that people use this forum as an extended harddrive and keep on uploading pictures endlessly.

It took me a while to figure it out. I had a very difficult understanding and being able to get pictures into my post. But Stormboy was really very helpful.

If you see a photo/image you would like to post here, right click on it

then put your cursor on "copy image location", click

This way you don't copy the picture. Only the location (that is the url address where the picture can be found).
This location starting with http://.... you copy between the tags for images

What you could do is get a free website. With yahoo you can get a free website. All you need is a Yahoo ID. Open a website there and then upload all the photos and images you want. Like this you have them on the web and not only on your computer. And then you could copy the image location of your uploaded images into any posts you like here.
