Finally, the CF Newspaper is launched.

I've spent the past 4 hours coding the backend to this. :)

It's a fairly system nonetheless.

We have PuppyforChrist, the Editor-in-Chief. She has her team which she will announce.

She will give certain members CF Newspaper Editor status. When they receive this status, they will be able to submit articles via this link:

http://www.christianforums.com/article.php (http://www.christianforums.com/article.php)

Or by going to the CF Newspaper (http://www.christianforums.com/f464-cf-newspaper.html) forum and clicking on this icon:

http://www3.christianforums.com/images/buttons/article.gif (http://www.christianforums.com/article.php)

Only pre-approved members who have the editor status (where they will get a http://www3.christianforums.com/images/userinfo/editor.gif icon in their posts) will be able to access this form and submit articles.

The article submission form allows you to choose 4 different article types: News, Congregation, Sports and Entertainment.

The articles will go to this staff forum for review first. A copy of the article submitted will be PMed to the member who submitted it.

CF Newspaper Staff will review to ensure it fits. Once they are sure, they will move it to the public CF Newspaper forum here: CF Newspaper (http://www.christianforums.com/f464-cf-newspaper.html) )

Members cannot start new posts in the public CF Newspaper forum - they can only reply to approved articles that have been moved there after review from the staff forum.

This system is beta at the moment and will be expanded.

I have a question. I was asked to be the Women's correspondent. Will there be a sub-category for that?

I like it. Are positions already filled for this or can we talk to Puppy about becoming a writer for the newspaper?

Basically all positions are not filled however there are positions that still need to be created. Right now we are organizing who we got. Once we do that we will focus on what we need and then a "hiring process" can be started.

can members write stories if they are approved?...and at the same time not have to worry about someone stealing thier writings...like what a member writes is copyrighted to that member?

I dont know how copyrights work, so I cant answer that at the moment. It might fall under the general copyright Erwin has on CF, but he would have to let us know. As for individual members writing for the paper we are working out a possible system of freelancers which would be about 5 if we do choose to go that route. As of right now, not just anyone can write something and expect to have it published in the paper. Also, I dont think it is, but if your referring to stories such like short stories, fictional work there arent any plans for that at the moment.

I am supposing since there has been no activity or conversation this way anyway that this idea is dead?

Nope, it's only beginning. :)

I am so sorry to leave all of you out in the dust with this. The Lord's Envoy and I have been busy with school, work, and other things lately that we have not had much time for the paper.

We are both trying to set some time aside and get things going. It's hard to do things communication wise as well, since PM boxes fill up quickly.

So, don't worry everyone, the idea has not died. :) We are doing what we can at the moment. And I will keep you all updated more often in the future. Sorry bout that. :)

Much the same as you can read any thread. The plan is to compile all the articles into one thread. Each article will have its own post. They will be posted in The Newspaper forum.
