CHANGED: Anonymous blessings no longer have custom PM message [Archive]

When you send a blessing or bless an item, a custom PM message will NOT be sent if you choose to make it anonymous.

This is because of the abuse of the anonymous blessing system by a few members who have been using it to send anonymous PMs that contain messages to other members that break our forum rules.

Just letting people know. It's a shame that a few people would spoil it for the majority, but I need to make this change to protect members from receiving offensive anonymous PMs via the blessings system etc.

:( that is terrible. I thought vbulletin has a built in feature where you [CF Admins] can read peoples PM's and find IP's.

There is no inbuilt feature to read PMs - these are private.

We can find IPs, but the blessings system is totally anonymous. Anyway, now if it's anonymous there is no custom message so people can't send nasty PMs anymore. If you want to send a message, make it NOT anonymous.

ChrisBot is still around. :) If the blessing is anonymous he will just send his own message - no custom message from the blessor.
