I am going to be a catechuman on Sunday!

Also, I just got back from a teen retreat. I had trouble with the most of the teens (:P) but I did get to talk to the priests and deacons that came. And, I got a large icon of Christ Pantocrator at the monastery :)

Anyways, is there anything specific I should read now? Anything I should do? My priest is getting me one book, but I want to do more. Also, after reading some of Fr. Seraphim Rose, I must ask, what can I do to understand God at that level?

YAY BIZZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some suggested reading - "What Every Protestant Should Know About the Orthodox Church", by Clark Carlton, or any lives of the saints type book.

As far as what you can do to understand God??? Few of us ever do!! We love Him and worship Him, and very little emphasis is ever placed on understanding Him, within Orthodoxy. :)

congratulations Biz, I received "The Path to Salvation" by St. Theophan the Recluse as a gift after entering the Church, but if you want a head start, it's a good read.
