I drove from Venice to Athens in 1990 (or was it '89 :scratch: ), through what was Yugoslavia. Didn't stop much. Iraq had just invaded Kuwait and there were severe fuel shortages. Police were escorting fuel trucks and people were lined up for miles at the stations. I was lucky and slipped into Greece without too much trouble.

One of my dreams is to go to Serbia... obviously when it's not, you know, a war zone. I'd love to see the beautiful monasteries and just the beautiful area in general. I'd also lovelovelove (in theory) to meet His Holiness Patriarch PAVLE, whom many consider to be a living saint.
