Reading of Joel 2:23 - "Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the LORD your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you -- The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month." NKJV
I simply opened my Bible, this morning, looking for something interesting, and significant for today, and upon first opening, my eyes dropped right onto this verse...as it is raining "cats and dogs outside!"
It could be God is telling me something, but I'm not sure what. Does God have a sense of humor? :)

Of course God has a sense of humor! Just look all around you! Giraffes, duck-billed platypi? (puses?), rhinos and hippos (those huge fierce looking things are vegetarians!)
One time, we had ants all over the area where we usually had Bible studies when I was in high school. We figured God must have a sense of humor to do something like that to us.
As for us, it is not raining in Lake Charles, LA! It's supposed to rain this weekend, though.

Could be we need an ark (I already have a fine rain coat). We flooded in 1997, and the flood waters barely stopped at our driveway! That was some flood. We have a river/creek nearby, about two blocks away. That river (called Dry Creek, because most of the time it is one) overflowed onto the streets, nearby houses, and knocked out a bridge in the neighborhood. Too close for comfort, and the people who were flooded out, it was a tragedy. :(

joel was a prophet and i think you will find that the former and latter rain refer to times. the latter rain is what we are in right now before jesus comes. it is also when he will pour out his spirit liberally as joel talks about

Perhaps God was telling me something apart from our rainstorm. Well, must do more thinking on this. Thanks. :holy:

I think God has a great sense of humor! Just remember..don't look for things that aren't there. If God is telling you something, you should know it.

Oh no... Well, I have a great friend in Iowa. Hope things get better for you. We are very soggy here. NEED SUN! I will have to call our friend soon.
My doggies are really looking forward to some warmer weather too. So is Calvin (the cat)...he wants me to turn the heater up outside, and turn off the water works. We keep telling him it doesn't work that way!

Ha ha. But you're right!
Luckily, I did it late afternoon, so the neighbors weren't blinded too bad! (i.e., there was little direct sunlight reflecting off my bright white body!).
Bridget, you haven't seen an Aggie's car, have ya! It needed them this morning, though!

Must be, but I've been to TX quite a few times and I've not seen that, either! Hmmm. . .maybe just not in the right area? I've not even seen that here in good ol' cajun country!
There's this thing where we think cajuns may just be southern rednecks. . .LOL
