Or do you just do it when you get around to it (like me, pretty much)?

I always start out good and intend to do it every day, but somewhere along the line, usually a week later, I fall off. I guess my main problem is not knowing what to study or do. I have some devotional books, but they really don't provide much of a study guide.
I do notice when I fall off, my spirit suffers. I'm not as joyful and filled with God's love. Hmmm?

I read daily, whether it's a devotional style or a topical study. I have found that when I skip, or am late (I start first thing even before coffee...) my day is incomplete, out of sorts and just off kilter. It's also the last thing I do before climbing into bed. Read the Word and pray...
great way to clear the mind of all the world's evil. Makes for sweeter dreams.

Hi Ya'll,
I have a pretty good reading thing going on here.
I have a Bible called a "Dake Annotated Reference Bible" (left over from the Pentecostal Daze....errr. I mean Days ;) ) and it has a awesome guide to reading the Bible through in a year. Also, I follow the Daily Bible reading program on Crosswalk.com, that equates to about 7-8 Chapters a day, in various places, Like now, with the dake system, I am reading the Book of revelation, with crosswalks, I'm reading through luke, I also am reading some in the O.T 1-2 chapters in Ezekiel, and 1 chapter in Isaiah..
People ask, why so Much? Just to keep the mind fresh in the Word. I really don't have to read so much, But I just enjoy reading God's Word. Nothing wrong with that.. I guess.
Thank you Lord, for your Word which has stood the test of time.

My resolve to read the Bible daily has been lacking as of late. I don't think the blessing of reading God's Word everyday should be overlooked.

Hi there lambslove.
I am kind of new here and this thread made me very sad. There are so many books that lead you into reading the bible so much a day and most people give up or at best loose their way.
If you got a letter from your father or mother would you read part of it and come back the next day and read some more and the following day read a bit more? No you would sit down and read the letter from beginning to end.
When i started out reading the bible a pastor told me that IF i really wanted to know Gods word then read reach letter in the N.T. each day for thirty days. I started with I John and did just that, except for the gospels and Acts, which i read in 3rds each day for thirty days.
You tend to keep everything in context if you read a letter through and by the end of the month you will have it written on your heart.

I am FRIGHTENINGLY undisciplined! That is truly one of my New Year resolutions. I have STACKS of devotionals and study guides...and there they sit!
I took a great class, lead by video, made by Billy Graham's daughter. I was about HOW to go about true Bible study, and I got a lot from it. Now, all I have to do is impliment it! It's not really WHAT to study. More like HOW to study whatever it is you are focusing on.
