I finally did it... :) I added a countdown for the people requesting one, to use in posts and sigs.

To use it, you do this:

[ countdown=November 19, 2005]CF 4 year Anniversary![/countdown ]

REMOVE THE SPACES IN THE COUNTDOWN TAGS ABOVE!

The above tag, with the spaces removed, will show up as:

CF 4 year Anniversary!

You can use this for birthdays, pregnancy tickers, or anything you want. ;)

NOTE: You need a browser that supports java applets. :) Applets are used for security.

You can install a java applet addon to your browser if you can't see the countdown banners by clicking here:
http://java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp (http://java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp)

That's a nifty piece of work Erwin :) What format does the date have to be in? As per your demo or would something like '19/11/2005' do?

That's really nifty. I miss the one with the graphics, but I won't complain. Can the font and color be altered?

It's not working for me. All I get is a rectangle, with the dreaded red cross in the corner. Any sugggestions what I'm missing? Or do I need to change my computer settings?

You have to remove the SPACE in Each of the []'d commands.

Before Submit, do a Preview and if you don't see the countdown, see if you can figure out where you missed a space, and then Preview and preview and preview until you do see it. That's how you know you got it.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow

is this:

[countdown=December 2, 2004 ]Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow[/countdown ] with a single space before each of the closing brackets which is not in the above counter.

If you reply to this message you should see the proper code quoted

How do you know if your browser has jave applets? Nobody's tickers are showing up on my screen...just an empty box with the graphic symbol. I really want a ticker of my own!!

This ruins posts beneath it because they stick below where they should be, and the next post cannot be read. It is quite an annoyance!
