Shalom, I hope that everyone had a good thanksgiving. I did! I went to my grandmother's house and ate with a lot of my family, and then we put up my grandmother's tree. I know about Christmas and its peganess, but it still has a special meaning in my heart. Also, to celebrate Christmas is not bad if you do it secularly, right?

We drove 16 hours to Pennsylvania to celebrate thanksgiving with my relatives. On the way up, my Grandfather had heart problems (He had 2 inches of fluid around his heart) so we decided to have thanksgiving today. However the heart problem was fixed, but now they've learned that he has an abnormal lung (please pray for him :prayer: ). Hopefully we shall celebrate thanksgiving this Sunday.
Shalom, Freak4JC

The tree was originally a phallic (penis) symbol (thus the "balls" hung on it) and the pagans would sacrafice children at the base as 'presents' unto their g-ds.
Yeah, I'm sure HaShem is cool with that in our houses today.

    And I knew that the tree had to do with life...wow, some life. I can never go a day without learning something new.

I was listening to a lesson by a messianic leader the other day that said Thanksgiving was practiced by the Puritans who tried to reinact the Feast of Tabernacles.

Yeah, I'm sure HaShem is cool with that in our houses today.Don't know if I would be able to find it again...but it was very historically documented.
