Here's a quick one of me. Well, ok, not very quick considering I used the auto-timer to take it, then downloaded GTK2 and the GIMP to edit it down to a manageable size but anyway, here it is. Pretty much the same as my avatar except the beard is fuller. I'm going for an Orthodox look. lol
And it's kind of strange too because I was seriously thinking about starting a picture thread for us just this morning but I got sidetracked. WTG, Michael!

We might be able to, but we need to clean up the stickies (I thought of this just the other day) and put them in the Ref. Library, we've nearly a half page stuck here already.

This was taken about this time last year. We've since both lost weight due to being Orthodox. (Fasting, Lent, etc) And Seraphima at the fountain at Church early this year.

My pictures:
1.) Me in one of my friends' rooms. And, yes, that is a plush manta ray on my head. Don't ask.
2.) Me at my work, being the Brig Ninja (TM). I've lost some weight since then and I'm growing in a full beard.
3.) Me being a happy Brig slave. I hate hats, by the way.

Yup! And the camera is the LEAST of it for us technologically challenged folks who experience frequent episodes of Cranial-colon inversion when trying to perform any new function. I'll probably figure out how to upload photos just in time for my 40th birthday pics, in 2009.

In the first one, I'm in the middle of the group wearing a baseball cap. This was with part of the first Real Break 2003 team in front of the center where we were working.
In the second one, I'm to the extreme left. This is with the second Real Break 2003 team in the in the rented chapel where our parish has services. (Our priests, the Protopresbyter Peter and the Archimandrite Andrew, are the first and second to appear right to left.)
The third one is a piece of ancient history -- there I am, in the middle of the the first church I pastored, greeting people after Sunday morning service. I'm even wearing Protestant vestments! ;)

Try photobucket (http://photobucket.com/), they are a great image hosting site and they are free. When you get a picture uploaded, you can go to your album and it has thumbnails of the pictures and below each is 3 different links you can place on any site or forum that will either link to the picture or load it directly to the site.

My main complaint with the NBR is that not only is Christ accompanied with a few pagan Gods (and a few modern demi-Gods as well), but they have an absolutely awful 'icon' of Him. I would prefer the Evangelical Kinkadesque to this

Do you mean Zeus and Poseidan? Their status as Pagan deities aside, the stories are regarded as mythology as well, and I imagine our culture has been influenced by them.
By the way, I agree with your assessment of the icon, although it does remind me of some of the mass-produced images produced by some of the Catholic presses, which makes me happy, as I used to be Catholic. :) (Now watch, someone's going to tell me the image isn't Catholic at all...)
Sorry, it's night time and I'm rambling. Shall I discuss the store-bought bowl of rice pudding I bought at the grocery store that I'm about to consume?

Great Lent was really my first attempt at a long fast too. :) Well, actually, no... I was just deciding to become Orthodox around the Nativity of last year, so I fasted for the last week of the Nativity Fast. OH MY GOODNESS WAS THAT HARD. That first week in December was harder than any other period of fasting I have done since... my body was like "WHAT? DENY ME SOMETHING? RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!! EAT PIZZA!!!!" But I have to say that Great Lent was the most spiritually fruitful period of my life to date. And the fasting really does get easier... and that first hard week is important, because it shows you what slaves to our bodies we have become. Anyway... yes... um... don't remember the point of this post! Tehehe.

Very perceptive! :)
Ironic, isn't it? At one end of Red Square stands one of the most beautiful churches ever built for the glory of God, and there, near the other end, is a monument and mausoleum for a disciple of Satan, a thief, liar, and murderer (and, even worse, Stalin is buried in back of it!).
Russian history in microcosm!

Behold! The Macbethian Mullet (TM) and the Uber-Beard (R) are no more! You'll note that I still have some hair on my face - I don't think it qualifies as a beard in its present state. I think I went a little overboard with the scissors last night. And, my hair's a little shorter than I would like, but I just wanted rid of it before I went to Florida.
Oh well. Nothing that two weeks won't fix.

I know I am new, just wanted to post my pic so ya'll can see me. By the way, I came to Orthodoxy (sort of) through a non-canonical jurisdiction HOOM/CSB who are now OCA and really Orthodox. I have recently turned back to Christ and the Orthodox Church...I will be chrismated this month and I am SO EXCITED.
Please pray for me. I will be bold and upfront about what I am dealing with, because I need help and support from my brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.
I am a repentant homosexual. I choose never again to defile my body, mind, soul and spirit, regardless of my "natural" inclinations...this is OH so hard for me to write, but I feel safe on TAW. I have walked the "straight" and narrow (no pun intended) for some six months, longer than in my entire lifetime and I'm 42...ONLY by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the intercession of His holy mother.
In the past I have had multiple sexual and physical abuse, at the hands of family while I was a child and even at the hand of clergy...I have so much healing "under my belt", yet SO MUCH MORE to go.
Please pray for me that His Grace will be sufficient...and thank you for letting me be so candid and trusting all of you.

Father Seraphim Rose, who is dearly loved and venerated by many here, was also a repentant homosexual. The Church does not tolerate sin - but how She loves the sinner who comes running to Her embrace, away from that sin!
You are safe here.

Got you on my daily list as Cyprian if that's ok. Let me know if you'd rather I use a different name. And welcome to TAW!

Although I would like to think this true, it is just a rumer...I spent time in his monastery amongst those that knew him...and they wouldn't ever speak of it...I like to think that it is true because I have asked Fr. Rose to pray for me many times!

WOW, seriously? I have thought about doing a pilgramage to the Holy Land and Mt. Athos....perhaps I should do that as well...that would be SO cool. I did not know that ANY holy relics of Sts Cyprian and Justina survived!

You had a picture taken of you at a bbq, and there is no beer in your hand
Do you have a fever? Perhaps your hands were paralysed and you couldn't hold a beer mug. Are you possibly schizophrenic and it was your French personality that was photographed?
Please tell us Michael, is there anything wrong?!!!
There is of course the possibility that your mother photographed you as you were approaching the bar ;)
