Here is an article about a "new translation" of the first five books of the OT.

What do you think?

I don't know anything about the author, but my initial reaction to the story is negative. I have a hard time accepting that all prior translations do not adequately portray the text God intended.

Given that the author took the liberty to translate it himself because, as the article states, "he has never found a biblical translation that he liked or could recommend to his comparative literature students", I'm certainly skeptical.

Every cult starts out by saying that previous translations of the Bible are wrong and only this one translation really says what the ancient language says. I think from reading the excerpts that the Bible loses a lot of its impact on the power of God and makes evolution seem like it could be right. I think it cheapens humanity by cheapening God.
