Hi Guys,

I know this may be a long shot... You know, might have a better chance of getting struck by lightning in a snowstorm in Hawaii kind of thing... But!

Is there anyone in here from the Detroit, Michigan area, more specifically the "downriver" area? That might be attending a KJV preferred or ONLY Baptist Church in Detroit or in the Downriver area? I need to be in a church, but I have a slight problem. I don't have any wheels... (or a car either...^_^ ) and I want to try a Baptist Church out, I tried out one here in Lincoln Park, where I'm from, But it was waaaay too liberal for my tastes... I also know of a few around here, Dix Ave Baptist Church, but they're in the SBC, and those guys are too liberal as well.. I looking for a good ol KJVO, Calvinist, Baptist Church... Anyone in here attend one in the Detroit area in here? and wanna give a fellow brother a lift to Church? until he can get his own car?

Thanks, and Blessings!

Greeting CI!

I hope and pray that you are able to find someone to help you in your search for a home church. We all know how difficult a process that can be... Not having a car makes it all the more challenging.

You might try posting something in the "Regional" forums also... To see if there are any folks there who may be able to help.

God Bless!

Faith and hope friend. I have seen lightning in a snow storm and it does snow in Hawaii, on Mauna Kea. :D God will provide something. If you don't get any help at CF, call some churches and tell them your situation. I'm sure they can arrange something.

Praying for you to find a ride...

Call the church. They may have a way to get you there. I know our church does. I used to live in Toldeo, which isn't too far away.

God bless you,
Dave

I'm still off topic (big surprise):

Hey now, just 'cause Lifeway needs to be placed in the fire doesn't mean the whole denomination has gone pansy. I admit, I'm glad they set forth the funds to make it, with good reason, and I'm glad they had translators from all denominations. As far as the HCSB translation goes, I'm just thankful that it is more literal than the NIV while still conveying the meanings, as it balances between the NASB and the Message.

I'm still just using it to "survey the translations" in research, though, and that's about it.

As to the pentecostalism, I've heard word of that, but the same for the doctrine of free-will in the salvation process: there are several SBC churches that ascribe to those beliefs, but the denomination as a whole doesn't buy it.

Anywho - glad you found a church to attend.
