new christian .. need help

Umm i was assigned a bible project on the 8th commandment Thou shall not steal.. and i dont really know where i can find verses , cause i dont really know much about the bible.. and i have to make a lecture on this commandment next week for my fellow classmates.. and i would definetly appreciate if you can give me some references from the bible and what i could include in what i should say about this commandment.. well thank you very much

Hmm, look in Proverbs... there has to be something about stealing.
Sorry I couldn't give you an actual reference I'll try to find some more specific verses and get back to you tomorrow.

You may want to use Leviticus 6:1-7. This gives us an idea of God's expanded views on stealing. Finding something and not returning it or not returning something borrowed is stealing and a sin. In the Old Testament days they were required to bring a guilt offering to the priest, a ram with no physical defects or animals's equivalent value in silver. Then the priest would make atonement (cleansing, made right with God) for them before the Lord and they would be forgiven.
