You have a nice wishlist, LE. I have read "Jesus Among other gods", "Exegetical Fallacies" and "Persecution". The first and last are superb reading! Exegetical Fallacies is a great resource, but is a little heavy to read for fun. It was one of my textbooks for my masters degree. Great book with lots of great info, nonetheless.
Just a note, while I shop on Amazon, I buy on ABEBOOKS.com. It is a used bookstore site that has books from shops all over the US and UK. A very nice site, if you don't mind used books.

Dave, your wishlist didn't show up for some reason. Then again, that's probably just my inadequate surfing abilities.

Dave, you have some stuff that I am going to add to my wishlist at a more sensible hour. You did have 1 book on your list that I do own.
Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Manners And Customs How The People Of The Bible Really Lived (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0785211942/ref=wl_it_dp/104-4216122-7697502?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=I30612I3G46U2D&v=glance&colid=1IT36NJV5S7J4) This is a nice little reference booked, packed into nice consistent sections. If your reading it straight through be prepared to get bored.
Take it easy

It is very good! Other than that if you do not have it a great book to go along with that book is Our Legacy by Hannah.
I haven't made a list as I did not know they had one but will do so soon :)

Three words: Occasion to Sin. :D
There's a great used bookstore out here in Berkeley. It's two stories and has a little bit of everything. I found a copy of The Complete Works of Aristotle and St. Augustine's Confessions for about $30 together.

I don't have a wishlist. I have an unfortunate habit of buying whatever books I want when I notice them or find them. Even more unfortunate (for me) is the newest list of books that I've been given. I'm just wrapping up a Pastoral Theology course in which the author recommends, "The value of a pastor's library should be about equal to the value of a new car." I'm not there yet but getting close. He goes on to give about 25 pages of recommended reading/resources. I have a bunch of them already but there are some (older ones) that I'm going to start looking for. I recently bought the complete works of the early church fathers, a set of I think 48 volumes. It usually sells for about 1100.00 US but I got it for 199.00 US. I've poked through some of them for research ( I just wrote a paper on the scope of "the church"). Other than that I don't know if I'll ever just sit down and read through them from cover to cover..
If you're interested in the office of pastor (either to enter it or to understand the pastor that you have) I would suggest the book "The Pastor, his life and work" by Charles Wagner. It's great.

Description: Broken into three sections, this plethora of information on the Early Church Fathers is essential. Series I of the Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers consists of eight volumes of the writings of St. Augustine, the greatest and the most influential of the early Church Fathers, and six volumes of the treatises and homilies of St. Chrysostom. The Nicene And Post-Nicene Fathers Series II contains in fourteen volumes the works of the Greek Fathers from Eusebius to John of Damascus and the Latin Fathers from Hilary to Gregory the Great. Several of the writings appear for the first time in English. The first three volumes are a complete collection of the historical writings of the Fathers, whose permanent value as the primary sources is universally acknowledged. Other volumes contain the works of eminent figures in early Christian history. The Ante-Nicene Fathers. These writings of the church fathers represent the first primary sources of Christian history following the canon of the New Testament, and as such are invaluable resources for the serious student of the early Christian history, doctrine, and ethics. The Ante Nicene Fathers ranges from the Apostolic Fathers to various third and fourth century sources including the liturgies and ancient Syriac documents. Enjoy (some of the writings are a sure cure for insomnia) :P

Thanks, BT. I've always had sort of this mysterious attraction toward the Early Church Fathers, and after this semester's Christology class, it has become less mysterious and more blatant. :) I think I'll keep the link for some post-Christmas (and maybe post 2nd semester financial aid check) purchasing. :sorry:
