Hi everybody!
I hope you are all having a great day so far! I read in the Anabaptist Icon thread that Anabaptist churches would not want a cross for an icon because few of them have them in church. Is this accurate, and why? Thanks!

I have no idea and honestly I am just speculating but maybe they see it as a form of idolatry? Please forgive and correct me if I am wrong. :)

That's pretty much it. They usually are very plain churches with little or no ornament at all. No stained glass, no steeple, no murals, nothing. The idea is to keep your attention on the service and spend your money on important eternal things.

Right. Anabaptists and Quakers both tend to be iconoclastic. If you see a cross or an American flag inside a Mennonite or Friends church, this would be a clue that this particular church is not very close to their Anabaptist or Friends traditions.
