I don't think you will go to Hell...but you must ask yourself a couple of questions:
1) Is listening to this music helping or hindering my spiritual walk or does it effect it at all?
2) Do I cause "my brother to stumble" (display a poor witness of your walk) by listening to this music?
This is an issue that is between you and God. Pray about it, think about it and then do what's right.

I dont think it will affect me if I like the music, but it would if I liked him. I believe you can like the music, but not like him.
But, it probably is hindering me.

i love marilyn manson!
he's music rocks!
but at the end of the day, you have to remember, its only an act, he isnt really an anti-christ // anti-religion etc...he acts that way and people think, "wow, is this guy for real" and it brings in his listenings
more listeners / popularity = $$$
just inform god that you just like the music, i'm sure he'll understand that its a music intrest of yours and see you for who you are, not for what you wear, look-like, listen to or watch!

Eventually, as you get closer to Christ, you will realize that some things just don't "feel right" and you will give them up willingly. Its hard to explain and hard to understand. But this is the best that I know how to explain it. At least this is my experience.

you know, i agree
i hadn't listened to MM for a long time, and when i saw this post, i dug out "holy wood" one of his albums, and i binned it, it didnt appeal to me at all anymore
i actually binned one of my favorite albums :S
i didnt feel right listening to it, in verses where he talks about killing God, etc
normally it doesnt bother me, but the closer to christ i've got, the more it just...doesnt feel right

I can't stand Manson's message, but his music also sucks. There are Christian bands that rock so hard, he probably wouldn't survive the pits. Give it up, get some Zao, and learn that Christians can rock just as hard if not harder than unbelievers.

hehe, well im not so sure about zao but yeah milk does the body good ya know... and so does good stuff like Christian music.
but for me ill be real and say man theres alot of really good soundin stuff out there... like powerman5000's "...the supernova, the supernova, the supernova goes pop...." sounds awesome to me...
but its just that i have to be responsible and not listen to anything that hurts my spirit and walk with God.
i really dont know any christian bands that sound as good as the korn and robzombie and slipnot and mushroomhead buts just a sacrifice i have to make to walk in the goodness of God, and its so worth it.
though i think norma jean is the bomb, well their first cd anyway, i dont like the new lead vocalists sound, and older extol stuff is awesome too.
i really dont have a replacement for the old secular music and maybe never will, but having a healthy relationship with God is so much better.
and i cant be this wishy washy child who cries if he doesnt get all he wants anyway, there are more important things.
but Godbless.
Lee.

heh. Britney Spears will send more people to hell than Marilyn Manson.
particular musical groups may not be healthy to listen to but Manson isn't going to damn you to hell.
I used to listen to a lot of slayer, but got rid of it because I noticed how it was affecting my attitude.

i just hope the poor girl gets saved....
shes so deceived.
but i dont think she means evil like alot of metal bands do, alot of what they say comes from nothing but hate.
the thing is,
how can a christian listen to music that says stuff like
"... i take a knife and cut her from her **** to her head, and i cut out her vagina and eat it..."
thats quoting a lyric from a certian secular metal band, cannible corpse.
i know i just made an extreme point and alot of bands never go that far off the deep end.... but the point is, there is stuff that as a christian, who cares whether or not its gonna send you to hell...
its just so obvious we dont have any business listening to junk like that.
whatever things are good, whatever things are pure, whatever things are holy and of good report.... think on these things.
the more i grow in Christ, the more somethings just dont click with me, Gods changed the way i feel and think and the things im comfortable being around.
there are some secular bands ill listen too, but alot i just wont.
does it agree with the what word tells me? does it support or try to negate what God is doing in my life? is it truely neutral? or is it actually in an unseen way causing a conflict inside me with what God is trying to do in me?
God teaches me principles and truths and hes trying to apply those to me,
and i wont listen to any music and that clearly speaks out agaisnt those things.
its honoring God, and doing myself a huge favor.

yeah I agree with alot of which has already been said . I think it is important to listen to the right music , as it can effect you without you even knowing . I mean how many people have listend to a song and perhaps an hour or even a few days later found them selves singing the song to them selves??
Meeh Everyone has proably already seen this quote before but im going to put it in any way :D.
the Director of MTV famously said in an interview
with Tony Campolo 'we don't influence 14yr olds - we own them.' I think in many ways its true .
I think it is best to listen to Christian music rather than alternative stuff which perhaps conveys an immoral message through the lyrics. Alot of people say , I don't listen to the lyrics , I just like the beat or the tune . Although without them knowing it wil be sliding into your subcouncious . Its best to fill your mind with Godly and Holy thoughts than with immoral and simply not very good thoughts.
Also think of it this way , rather than suddenly finding your self singing a song encouraging immoral stuff isn't it great to suddenly find your self praising God through what your singing??
God is awesome and I think we should be praising him as much and as often as we can for all he has done for us  :) !!!!
Mark (sorry edited to add this and that previous bit).

I can't remember if anyone brought this up, but have you ever heard of subliminal influence? It can be so subtle, that you don't even realize it. I would stay away from it. Would you want to be listening to MM when Jesus returns?

If you truly love Jesus, you won't do or take part in anything that hurts your soul and subsequently, Him.
You won't go to Hell if you've been saved, but remember that you must do all you can to stay strong, to stay strong in your walk with God. Don't let any earthly desire, if you find it weakens you, become a part of you and take away from that walk. It's like walking down a bridge without rails, and sinful things are like alcohol, the more you drink, the more you stumble... and eventually you'll fall. Life is VERY short, as is this bridge, just don't drink, soon you'll be past this bridge to much better drinks which are alcohol-free.
Think, would this please God? If He were right next to you (which He is), would He be happy with this? Do only things that would please God, and that wouldn't hurt your soul or weaken your faith. Anything but these things are of Satan and will bring you down piece by piece until you no longer have faith.

why would anyone who is a christian want to even have his junk in their house? oh yeah- he even went to christian school and has heard the gospel so many times, hes over it.
Jesus died for you and you want to condone mm singing??? get real.
if youre already saved- you cant loose your salvation, but you sure will be one miserable spiritual being ,and then you get to meet God and tell Him, that you just liked the music....
i just cant believe this, and from professing christians to. no wonder your testimonies are lousy probably , how many in your families arent even saved? you may be the only ones God has planned to reach them.
and they hear you playing that junk and filth... then- your gona tell them about Jesus?

Well, i was watching a christian channell about a mth ago.
for one, I dont know much about marilyn mason, never really looked into it, but this program I was watching showed that he does "satan alter calls" at his concerts. I did actually see it on TV. The people that went up gave their soul to satan. He is a member of the church of satan.
I would never put what people do when they are saved by grace in the same category with something like this, but they did it the exact same way.
It was disgusting.
My 14 yr old asked me about him the other day and I told her what he did and that was enough to turn her off from him immediately.
My daughter is saved and normally i would just say well I would prefer you not to listen to this or that, but I guess I must of been lead to see that, cause I did not know that was something that actually happened.
I feel the lord wanted me to see it so I would be prepared when my daughter asked me about him.
Now for what you asked will it send you to hell? I cant and noone here can answer that, but use this as a rule of thumb, if your questioning it, I would consider that God is putting it in your head that maybe you should reconsider it?
I honestly want to keep my mind clear and free of all the negatives I possibly can so the words from the Lord can guide me on my path.
I am sure you will come up with your answer.. Just pray!!

just want to clear one thing up. MM is acctully an Ordained Priest in the Levay brand of Satanisim.
and i once saw him in an interview state that the problems with Christians is they think they are better than everybody else

It's meant to be. That brand of Satanism is really more like the opposite of Christianity (prizing selfishness and hate, etc) and Manson gets his appeal by shocking people. It's more of a mockery of Christianity than anything else. I don't know if Manson really does worship Satan, or just uses him for shock value. Satan likes it just fine either way, though. But we do need to pray for these people, and God can easily break them free from anything involving the devil or demons.

LIke i said above, Manson is a Levay Satanist. They dont believe in Satan as a devil as such. Satan to them is just a word used to explain overindulgence(sp?) in thinks you like to do.
In fact most brands of satanism dont believe in a devil satan as the devil is really a christian thing.
But i do agree with you that whyat he does on stage and so forth is just for shock value
