NEW: CF Chat Box - revamped!!!

The CF Chat Box is now compatible with our multiple servers, and should be faster and easier to use! :)

Better yet, members can now EDIT or DELETE their chats, and they can VIEW ALL CHATS by another member!

Just like in a post, you can now click on a member's username in chat, and view their profile, see all their chats, send them a PM, and if the post is yours, you can even EDIT or DELETE your own chat, just in case.

Even if you DELETE a chat, you can RESTORE it later.

Enjoy this new chat box! :)

Erwin I hate to be the first to have a problem but every time I click on "Chat/refresh" it brings up the whole Christian forum screen in that tiny box. I do not know if you know what I'm talking about if not let me know and I'll take a snap shot and post it here.

ok....well now that i'm using the cb, I'm noticing numerous problems.

1. everything is extremely slow, and my posts aren't showing up.
2. When my posts do show up, someone is editing them somehow. Who can edit my posts? They're making my look stupid! :confused: I said "can anyone see my posts?" and when I finally saw it.....it said "I'm on my toilet eating tomatoes". :|

So far that's it.

For some reason, I can edit, delete, and see other IP addresses when I click on other user's usernames. :scratch:

According to rule #6

Do not give out any personal contact information, either of you or anyone else, in the ChatBox. This includes, but is not limited to, email addresses, instant messenger names, IP addresses, street addresses, and telephone numbers. Be wary about holding overly personal conversations in the ChatBox. Remember that anyone, even guests, can see what is typed.

But when ever you click on ANYONES name, it then shows there IP Address.

You can see everyone's IP address :eek: That is a doorway for hackers! People are editing what other people say in the chatbox :sorry: This can cause trouble... I am sure that Erwin did not no about this. I hope it gets taken care of soon :thumbsup: I think it is great but it needs to be fixed.

I think the problem is that ONLY in the CB everyone looks like there an Admin (They all have Admin Priviliges in the CB)

that seems to be the case, because numerous people know the code to change peoples posts and other stuff. I think it was caholla that said that.

That cannot be good. Everyone has administrator priviledges :scratch: Even though we are all good people, there may be some people who abuse their priviledges. Changing people's posts? Editing what people say? Deleting what people chat? Viewing everyone's IP addresses? :confused: That sounds a lot like a hacker. All I know is that I am going to stay out of the cb just to be on the safe side :thumbsup: I will go back to the cb when the problem is fixed.

It isn't a code. When you click on someone's username inthe CB, a little drop-down window comes down and it has a few options. It lists the IP, and then says 'View Public Profile', 'xxx's Chats', 'Edit', and 'Delete'.

First off, the time it takes to refresh when I type something or click refresh takes forever.

Secondly, how far back does it keep track of a users chats? Seems like a waste of disk space, since most things that are said in the cb are typically pretty mindless anyhow.

Refresh problem.

CB posts other people's replies below mine within the same timeframe.

i.e. I post 2 messages within the 11:28 timeframe and they are next to each other then suddenly they are separated or bumped up by someone who also replies at 11:28 (but after me) which makes our conversation go everywhere!
