Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, Those in my own home and within my family. Amen. (This Prayer releases 1000 souls from purgatory)

That is a very nice prayer...May I ask where you came about it?

And how it was decided upon that chanting these words releases exactly 1000 souls from purgatory? (I realize that the statement is oozing with a bit of sarcasm ~ Sorry, thats just my nature :D Really, though, who decided that that prayer could release that many souls from purgatory??? I'm curious ~ I don't just want to poke fun at my catholic brothers :D)
Blessings...

I have a few questions. Can you lead me to where in the Bible it says there is a purgatory. Also, can you show me where it says your works will release people from purgatory. Finally, why does this prayer start off with you or whomever offer Christ's Blood to God. I believe it was Christ who offered His Blood to us.
I mean no offense, I am just curious.
God Bless

I could echo those same questions, but I'm thinkin that maybe as protestant guests of the OBOB forum, we should probably ask that kindof question out somewhere not part of the "Chapel"... I would suggest posing that question elsewhere before someone of the Catholic faith with moderating abilities gets annoyed...

Yes if you wish to ask them in the main part I'm sure they would be happily answered.
