Doesn't mean anything good - the last public figure who "discovered" (read - decided it was safe and politically advantageous to *un*cover) their distant "Jewish" past was Madeline Albright and a worse enemy of Israel is hard to imagine.

Even IF true that does NOT make Kerry Jewish. Your father's father being Jewish does not make YOU Jewish, UNLESS you are rich or running for public office in the US.

Unfortunately, the liberal Jewish American community is so distanced from their Judaism, so ignorant of history and so in denial of the reality of anti-Semitisim in the US that they seem willing to embrace as one of their own any political figure who is liberal and even distantly and questionably Jewish as implicit evidence that their agenda of complete assimilation has been successful and vindicated.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention, someone recently here mentioned something about how it would make sense for the "anti-Christ" who steps up, to be a Jew who is not a Jew. I realize that Jewish authority says a Jew, now, is considered one whose mother is a Jew. However, I also believe the Word of G-d says that Jewish lineage runs paternally. (and that is not meant to be offensive to anyone at all)

Nevertheless, even so having a grandfather who was Jewish (notice how conveniently left out is ANY information about Kerry's father - ALWAYS a telltale sign) does not make YOU Jewish. EVEN if your grandfather was a great tzaddik, if your father was not "Jewish" and if your were not raised Jewish (read assimilated goy) you have to go through conversion, just like any other goy ;)

Scripture alludes to this condition, stating that the lack of various obediences would result in one being "cut off from Israel." In other words, no longer Jewish. If you are cut off, so are your childern - THIS is the great harm of assimilation!!! Causing the death of the Jewish people in ways Hitler could never dream!

i hear ya Hen. Have you ever heard that idea that one who is Jewish but not a Jew (not choosing, embracing, being a Jew.. etc. I hope you know what I mean here... I'm wiped tonight with my boy in my arms half the day sick...) would be the obvious anti- of Yeshua in the end days? I don't tend to buy into stuff like this too much but, eh, I thought it was fodder for discussion anyway L:OL

LOL - the last few political seasons there is some assimilated Jew or another popping up in the Democratic party - first as the Secretary of state, then as the VP running mate (and even he quickly moved from a form of orthodoxy to a rather ReformoConservative Jewish policy), now as the Presidential challenger.

Getting rather fashionable to be a little Jewish and political on the national level......

Eventually sucha a one, not necessarily OUR president, but then again not necessarily NOT our president.... will do as prophesy fortells.....
